Recommended by a friend, KP did not disappoint! The atmosphere on the patio was lovely, our server (Autumn) was delightful, and our pasta dishes were phenomenally delicious!!
We made a happy and delicious discovery at Kitchen Proper after a 45 minute wait at another local restaurant sent us looking for something local, and quick. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were seated quickly by the smiling and friendly hostess. They said the menu changesto utilize local products and we found wonderful, creative meals listed. First off, this is locally owned by a husband and wife team who were there thatnight cooking, serving and greeting customers. Secondly, EVERYTHING that we ordered was delicious, with large portions and reasonable prices. I love food, I love to cook and I'm hard toimpress when it comes to restaurants. I. WAS. IMPRESSED. WITH. EVERYTHING. WE. ATE! I can't wait to visit Kitchen Proper again on my next visit to Battle Creek.

One of the best meals my husband and I have ever had! Absolutely fantastic. Would definitely recommend!
Very fine dining befitting its reputation and price.My wife has celiac disease and they were able to accommodate nearly anything to be gluten free. Host and server were wonderful. All food was delicious. Plan to spend at least $50 a person.
I had high hopes. It was pretty good but was not steller. My veggies were cold in spots. They were also out of steak on a Friday at 5:45. I think its a nice place but I would go during the week maybe when they are not so busy.
Well done, really nice service, great dish, delicious, tasted, and quite nice place to have a dinner with friends. The Salmon from Alaska with polenta, Asparagus was fantastic. I really recommend it.

Kitchen Proper is easily the best restaurant and fine dining experience in Battle Creek. It rivals many of the best restaurants in the South / Southeast region! The service is great - our waitress was timely with each check-in and friendly. The food is both visually appealing - with each dish meticulously designed, as well as full of complex flavor.
