The food was fabulous, the service impeccable, and the ambiance was great. It was a nice place to celebrate a birthday!
Excellent service, warm ambiance…delicious food!
I came to chop house with high expectations. They have an excellent aesthetic but I was overall disappointed with their porterhouse and their sides. The porterhouse was ordered medium rare. They did not mess up on the cook temp. But it was under seasoned. I had to ask for salt to get any flavor. I believe it is because lots of people order sauces with their steaks here.We also ordered the sautéed mushrooms, mashed potatoes, potato gratin, and the creamed spinach. Both potatoes were also under seasoned. Not sure if i would come back unless someone invited me here.
Dear Caitlin… you were amazing. We were in town, being entertained by Vendors/family and were told we were going here for dinner. I looked over the menu ahead of time and was in love with the offerings. We were able to walk from our hotel to the restaurant which was awesome. Upon arrival, I was immediately impressed. Our generous host arranged for us to have the table by the window in front, beautiful chandeliers and great lighting. Our server was Caitlin and she couldn’t have been more incredible. Knowledgeable and informative ✅ The presentation of the team of severs/runners was awesome. Incredibly delicious food, sexy vibe and service that brings it all together. Highly recommend the establishment but most importantly, Caitlin. Thank you kids ?
Unfortunately, no longer does the free birthday meal. Don’t be like me and find out after they hand you the bill. $66 for just the steak no sides is a bit ridiculous.
We went for their dessert and we were greeted and seated. No one showed up to ask us for our order for 20 mins. We simply left and no one cared. Not sure if this is a one off scenario or it happens regularly but we're not going back there.
This was not a normal Chop House experience. This was my first visit to the Ann Arbor location that we decided to celebrate my birthday at. It was a Tuesday night (March 22), sat us in the bar and not very busy. Our waitress was very respectful but didn't seem to want to be there and was not engaged. The food was just ok. We had Salads, Filet, NY, 27 layer Potatoes, and Mushrooms. It was recommended by our waitress that we do not order our steaks medium-rare but to order medium. The Filet was cooked close to medium-rare but the NY was medium-well. Not even close to a medium-rare.The CH Old Fashioned was the best I have ever had.We seemed rushed the entire meal. We did not get to relax and enjoy each course of our meal and have conversation over our beverages. We were in and out in 45 minutes (wasn't enough time to enjoy more beverages). Something was just a bit off and not like prior Chop House experiences at other locations. We would not return to this location which is disappointing. We ended back at Knights for birthday beverages and dessert. They were very busy but they appreciated us being there.
Absolutely magnificent!!!!! I've been to some of the best steakhouses according to Michigan polls and this one definitely tops the list. Appetizers drinks service were all amazing, AND THE STEAK!!!! I had the cowboy and it was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Will most definitely return soon!
Nothing too special. $100.00 steak wasn’t cooked to the right temperature they recommended… As soon as the waitress saw it she realized it wasn’t cooked correctly, and apologized. The least you would expect at such a “high-end” Resturant is to cook the meat to the correct temperature the first time. Waitress didn’t wait until everyone confirmed they got the correct order. We had to call other waiters to grab our server, almost 5 minutes later. As soon as the waitress saw it she realized it wasn’t cooked correctly, and apologized. Nothing was offered to make up for the mistake.
I had Caitlyn for a server and she was great. I went for Valentines day and they were out of a side dish that I really wanted to try which was the mac n cheese. Not sure if they ran out of pasta or cheese but that was a bit disappointing. Upon ordering steaks my party was informed that what our cooked preference was would not be what we'd receive based on how the chef preferred to cook to the steaks. For example, I wanted my steak medium but she told me that he'd cook a medium steak more medium rare and if I wanted true medium that I'd have to request it medium well. To me, that's weird because why not just cook someone's steak how they prefer it. Based on this I'm assuming that the chef is one of those highly prejudiced ppl who hates ppl that orders steak well done lol. Me, personally, I don't like well done steak and don't necessarily like when ppl want one but it's not my life's mission to infringe on people's right to eat their steak however they want it either. The bread that they serve is absolutely amazing! It's like a cheese muffin but so much more than a cheese muffin at the same time. Cocktails are not watered-down at all. You order an alcoholic beverage and you're gonna taste and feel it for sure! The brussel sprouts were very delicious, a tad bit more on the sweet side than I'd prefer but I've been on keto for over a year so my taste buds have changed a lot and anything sweet tastes overly sweet to me. Over all, the service was top notch and the food was definitely good. The sides are huge portions so they're not just for one person. I would say the ambiance is more on the upscale side but I saw ppl casually dressed or even in what appeared to be street wear.
