Satchel's BBQ couldn't be beat. We had them cater our recent gathering and it was delicious. We love to get lunch or dinners from there, and were equally impressed with their catering for a big party (for about 100) as well. We hadn't tried the Kielbasa until the party and boy did we get the compliments. I love their food because they have really tasty GF options.
To be honest, I was very disappointed. The ribs were not tender at all, and didn’t even have any sear marks like they had actually been grilled. The coleslaw was very dry and bland. I added my own mayo jus so I could eat it. It was also packed w/ hot foods, typically cold foods are packed separately. Warm coleslaw is disgusting. But when u pay $20 for food U do what u can to not waste it. Also the meal was supposed to come with equal part of chicken and ribs, there were significantly more ribs than chicken. Needless to say I will not be ordering from Satchels again.
We had a reception of about 100 people catered by Satchels and it was a huge hit. Organizing was a breeze, as Hugh helped me determine exactly how much food was needed and which dishes would be the biggest hit. We had a few vegans/gluten free people so the sides were perfect for them while the brisket and other meats were fantastic. The setup was quick and the gentleman serving was loved by everyone. He was friendly and very nice. The food disappeared quickly, after everyone took a couple runs at the tables. Would absolutely have Satchels cater again!
We had a nice take out experience at Satchels. Sandwiches (Kielbasa and Brisket) and Mac & Cheese side. Online ordering was easy and ready at the designated pickup time. Food was tasty as were the included house BBQ sauce (more sauce options available at the door to serve yourself and your tastes).
We recently hosted our family’s Father’s Day celebration— and to give my husband the day off as well, we decided to order a Satchel’s delivery. We ordered at noon, and our very delicious BBQ extravaganza (for 12) was delivered about an hour later. The food was delicious, as usual. It was cheaper than if we had labored over the smoker all day, and the family happily divided up the generous left-overs for lunches. We’re so glad Satchel’s is in Ann Arbor. They’re our go-to spot.
We held a family event (about 40 people) with our dinner catered by Satchel's. Satchel's worked with me when I had questions, and all emails were answered quickly. The food and the service were incredible. The brisket and the potato salad received the most praise from our guests, but everything was delicious. We had very little food left over because everyone went up for second (and third) helpings. Highly recommend!
Satchel's has such an incredible menu, with so many favorites in our house. My fav is the smoked kielbasa and bread pudding. If you're in town, you should really make a pitstop for great food from the friendliest staff--outstanding customer service throughout the pandemic, when I'm sure they were short staffed like everywhere else. We're so lucky to have this option when no ones jumping for joy over cooking! Satchel's is across the board a crowd pleaser!
I believe this is the fourth time we have used Satchels and the food was excellent, as always. Lots of complements from our guests. One of our guests, who used to be a professional cook, said it was the best BBQ she has ever had.The gentleman that you sent to provide catering services (sorry, I don't recall his name) was truly excellent. So many of our guests commented on the excellent job he did and how professional & personable he was.Satchels will be our first recommendation to anyone that asks. We will be using you again!

I showed to get my order and they got it ready and loaded it up for me with no hesitation despite the fact I was 45 minutes early! Everything was DELICIOUS!
