I have been coming to this place since they opened usually once or twice per month. It’s a very nice cafe/restaurant and an asset to our community. They have a great, covered wrap around patio that is quite pleasant to sit in and has been really helpful during the pandemic. Their food is good and a cut above all the other coffee places in the area. It is very reasonable in price. They serve locally roasted Hyperion coffee which is excellent. The staff has always been friendly and efficient in my experience. It also feels good to support a local business. I hear it’s up for sale and I hope they are able to maintain these excellent qualities.
One of my favorite little places! The inside and outside of the cafe is absolutely adorable! Plenty of seating. The staff is very friendly. There's games to play and wifi to hook up to. The food and bakery items are good, we've tried almost all of the items. For those who care, they are super Covid safe as well, everyone was masked, HEPA filters in the dining area, and outside seating. Much appreciated!
My wife and I split the very veggie wrap and the beet salad both of which were fresh, bright, & flavorful. Nice work MoonWinks staff, you guys are killing it!!
I went in with an out of town friend. I waited 15 minutes to get a “hot” chocolate. It turned out to be a barely warm chocolate. When I returned it there was no apology or offer of another beverage. I live less than 5 minutes away and will NEVER go back
Welcoming staff. Cozy environment. Delicious food & drinks
Food is good, but lattes are bitter. I’ve ordered a few lattes from here and each time it tastes burnt and bitter. Please recheck your brewing/roasting process and bean selection.
Used to love moonwinks. Now their covid protocols are out of control.. Just look on their facebook.. almost every post is about covid, not about their food. How about be known for your food not your covid protocols. Hopefully in the future I will feel welcome at Moonwinks again like old times..
I love this place! I moved to the neighborhood recently and was so glad to find this little locally owned cafe so close by. I’ve been there several times now. I am so grateful for how committed they are to COVID precautions. The staff are always friendly, helpful, and efficient. They have Barry Bagels—best in the area—and I’ve loved trying all of their creative breakfast sandwiches. I’ve only had drip coffee there but it’s delicious. Such a cozy environment too—and an adorable wraparound patio with lots of varied seating for when it’s nice. Highly recommend giving this place a try!
First thing that gets my attention is their name, "Moonwinks". Makes you want to go inside, sit awhile, and visit with people and enjoy a morning coffee. We met-up with my brother-in-law and his lady friend. All of us had coffee and a slice of Asiago and Tomato Quiche. Quiches was good, maybe a bit too 'peppery' but was just enough to start our day. There are several tables inside, as well as outdoor tables on their 'patio'. Service could have been better, as in more servers during a morning rush. So, other then a little wait, it was nice, and I'm sure we'd come back again.
This charming looking cafe in the Cape Cod flavored village of Dixboro has so much potential, if only the service was better. I was thrilled to learn breakfast selections are available any time. I ordered the wonderful sounding Brioche Breakfast. Server: what kind of bread do you want with that? me: um, brioche. server: we don’t have brioche. ok, so that could be good on a wrap, but not nearly as delicious. my sister ordered the turkey reuban, which was good. We both ordered ice teas. We waited a little while, which is expected with made to order food. I picked up our sandwiches when my name was called, but there were no ice teas. When I asked about it, I heard someone say: we’ll bring those out to you. Well, they never came. I checked where orders are placed a couple times, but not there. So ok, we poured ourselves water, which was free and plentiful. No biggie. The real problem came when we were leaving and I asked for a refund for the missing iced teas, ready with my credit card. By the response I got from the 3 workers, you would have thought I was asking for the moon. Like, this could never happen. Server, curtly: We Never bring drinks to the table! ok, maybe I heard wrong in this masked environment. But still we never got the drinks. I asked for a refund to my card, showing my card. The server left the register and started pulling cups. I asked: what are you doing? Server: Getting your iced tea. me, still ready to use my card for a refund: but I don’t want the iced teas. A cash refund is ok, or … Server, curtly: we Never Give cash refunds! what’s your name? The lady making sandwiches said there’s a similar name and sometimes people don’t hear the right name. I’m thinking, someone took drinks they didn’t order? maybe… or maybe the order was never filled. Server: here’s your receipt; the money should show up on your card. me: how do you know that you used the right card? server, annoyed: Because you gave me your name! Like I’m supposed to know their system that differs from any other refund experience I’ve had. This server may have been having a bad day, but none of the people behind the counter apologized or tried making us feel whole. Later my sister said: They need a new system. Me: They need several new systems.
