First, I should say if you call for a reservation be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes after the time you reserved. The workers fill up table to quickly and let large parties go first. Which, I understand but smaller parties reserve time so deserve to eat. The food is good and hot always. The waiters are slow and don’t check up on the table enough throughout the dinner.
I've been here plenty of times for takeout and once for dine in and the food is always top notch and consistent between visits. I would also say the price is fair and expect to pay $20-40 per person. If you plan on dining in I would recommend calling ahead for a reservation. The wait times are usually short but their waiting area is small, often crowded, and close to the door. Best to get through there quickly or wait elsewhere to have the best time.
Their Hibachi grill is fun and it was a 5 star but food was 4 star! Our chef was nice and friendly.We got VIP for two and that gave us 3 choices of meat. It also came with Miso soup, a bowl of fried rice and some grilled veggies! You could add more for an extra charge but the portion was already a lot; maybe good for 3!You can ask for box/boxes if you like to take your leftovers.Regarding reservation:I saw online that they accept reservation, so I called but they said: it is not required!There was a 35 minutes wait when we got there, so we sat at the bar! It was nice.It was just the two of us and they waited for more people to join for the Hibachi grill. I assume you shouldn’t wait much long if you have a large party.
We had great service from employees and the waitress. The hostess sat us down and explained the menu to us briefly being that it was first our first time there. Our waitress Jenna checked on us numerous times making sure that we were happy with everything and explained the different soups to us, which were delicious. We went there on a Sunday and even though they were busy you could see that these people were working and they were focused to do a great job!!
Very nice restaurant with good ?. My Girlfriend loves ichiban whenever we are in Ypsilanti. They have the Hibachi Grills too, as well as a nice bar. Great place to take a date they have seats with curtains to give your table privacy. Perfect for this current day and age of social distancing.
Im not sure if they turn the heat on. It was so cold in there!! The food was below average, it was salty and the chef don’t even bother to do something fun (whjch supposed to). The soft shelves crab is tasty weird tonjte.
Very little wait time and when we were seated our server came quickly also. A very nice friendly staff and great food would definitely recommend trying it out.
Very tasty. Chefs are entertaining. Seating is kinda tight but decent. Waitstaff is proper. Good sushi but I only get the crispy salmon skin ??
This is a regular place of mine. Food is good. Service is generally pretty good but can be spotty, though I didn't start coming to this place until employee shortages became a big issue. The staff is always great though. Overall, it is a pretty reliable, consistent meal at a good price. You can do better on all fronts but you will pay more.
I ordered a steak hibachi dinner for takeout. I ordered my steak medium rare but my steak was raw ? I had to pan fry it myself just to make it edible
