(basement bar)I took a wrong turn through a crowd of people and wound up behind the bar, I turned around as soon as I realized! Walked around to go find a seat with my friend, the bar tender and I'm assuming the bouncer asked very nicely to search me (because I was behind the bar) which I was perfectly fine with and the I'm assuming bouncer gave me a good to go!! We started to go find a seat and decided it wasn't our scene, so we went to leave. As we were leaving the ( bouncer ) said "she wants you out" ( in regards to the seemingly drunk bar tender) then the bar tender followed us out twords the parking structure and along the way grabbed my friends arm aggressively!!!

Still a great atmosphere for a drinks, and a lively, fun crowd on a Friday evening. If you're hungry, stick to standard bar food-type options. The fries are really good. Onion rings are freshly battered and dipped and were outstanding. Sliders were tasty, but insultingly too small to even be called sliders. The Texas burger was massive, and quite good. The Rueben was reported to be quite good. The "German" food is absolutely horrible. It's an insult to German culture. It's barely edible. It should have been thrown out 3 days ago. It doesn't vaguely resemble anything remotely authentic. DO NOT ORDER GERMAN FOOD HERE.The sauerbraten was overcooked, tough, and was buried in a bland, gravy-like substance. The red cabbage was days past it's serving date, and lacked any flavor at all. The spatzle? Ugh. The spatzle was mushy, leftover pasta with generic "brown gravy" dumped on it. Inedible. The pretzel fondue included burnt pieces of something that may have been pretzel, and a dip which was not bad, but had some at our table wondering what the chunky stuff floating in it was.The "pub style service" is a disaster. You essentially have to jostle for the attention of the lone bartender-between drunken patrons buying pitchers of beer and pushing their way back to the bar to get more glasses, and whatever else they forgot. Elbowing, tripping, and slurring over those seated at the bar. Over and over. All this to place a food order for 6 people, which you then get to deliver the setups and drinks to the table yourself. Our food took over an hour to be prepared. Likely due to the need to overcook the sauerbraten and burn the pretzels. And when it's time to go, you'll have to fight for the attention of the bartender once again. This took another 10 minutes. If you're looking for a place to drink beer out of a boot, hang with a large group, or fill up on some greasy bar food, then go to the Heidelberg and have a good time. But do not order any German food here, and if you do, please do not just German cuisine by what you are served in this place.

Was driving down the street and saw the sign and decided to stop in for a drink. I love a good German bar/restaurant. The decor is good. We had already eaten, but looked over the menu - disappointing. There were German dishes, but some things were not authentic. Didn't entice me to want to eat there. I ordered a glass of wine. At $12 a glass, I expected better. The bartender was busy taking selfies. She would have been perfect in a college bar, not what I expected here.

awesome house breaded chicken tenders! burger was okay. there was one guy bartending, taking food orders, and running food out. I felt really bad for him. we had to wait quite awhile to order. I'm sure it's because they're short staffed. just hard to watch.

Ann Arbor's Latin Dance community held a Dance Social at Club Above on second floor of Heidelberg. Best dance party I've attended in AA. Great atmosphere, energetic crowd, fantastic music!

Nice German spot in Ann Arbor.

This site is my preferable site. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to that place. everytime I feel like having a superb supper, this is the place that comes instantly to my head. exeptionalgorgeous and food and a large list of dishes.professional staff members, and great ambience. And very important, the price is honest. I tell about this restaurant with great pleasure.

I can't say enough about the place. The German food is great. The beer selection fits what I expected and the staff was amazing. A little off the main drag in A2 but worth the walk.

This review is NOT about the venue. Its about the bartender NIKKI. 5 foot, ball pigtails, skinny. I waited until the next day day to see if I felt the same. Worst server I've experienced in a long time. I don't do this often but I've been frequenting this bar for about 15 years. I arrived here with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time to have a couple of beers. He bought two and I bought four (bought one for him). Three each, six total. Capped it off with a well shot. She cashed him out and charged me for all six beers! And tried to charge me for a missing stein! I asked why my bill was $94 for 5 drinks. She rudly told me to take it down a notch. My boy comes over and tells her he gave the stein to the other bar tender who confirmed this. She then goes on trying to explain some stein policy IVE NEVER HEARD OF in the bar and started ignoring us. We had a sober driver there who also confirmed she over charged. Rather than fight it, I decided to leave and think on it. Very disappointed. She's not very efficient. Kinda just wastes time chatting when there's groups of people trying to get service. I love this place for the setting. But certainly not the service.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. TERRIBLE SERVICE, BEER SELECTION, AND FOOD.It took >30 min to get 1L of beer, which had only HALF of the posted selection available. Understandable when there's only two folks manning the bar, but not when there's only one person trying to order.Food was delivered to the wrong table - the folks sitting there had to deliver it to ours themselves even though they told the wait staff that they hadn't ordered food. The only white bartender dude, who had been consistently drinking & inebriated the entire time, conveniently forgot to acknowledge the returned glassware DESPITE verbal acknowlegment and tried to charge us $40 each later.Nice try! It feels terrible leaving this kind of review when the other bartender was initially pleasant. Really hoping y'all have cameras to keep the staff who take advantage of the establishment and the customers accountable for their actions (or lack thereof). However, I'm skipping this place as a townie; it's honestly not worth the effort in a town where there are so many more places to frequent. Have fun ripping off the out of towners!
