Agreed with most reviews here that "old legacy authentic Chia Shiang is gone". Ordered twice for carry-out since the pandemic and were not satisfied with the dishes we ordered. For me personally I would just simply not go back though this place used to be one of my favs in AA.Owner's replies on Google are also horrible. People leave negative feedback on your business is because they aren't satisfied with their experience and want to bring the issue to your attention. It doesn't necessarily mean they are your "competitor". It's very rude if you accuse someone leaves negative comments to your business intentionally but can't list any proven evidences. Totally understand running a small business is not easy and negative reviews could hurt your reputation, but it's just really unprofessional if you can't keep a hold of emotions and read customer's feedback objectively.
Delicious, I usually order for delivery, sometimes Chowbus is busy and I pick up the food instead. Always good and will be back.
This used to be a good restaurant. Alas, no longer. Out of the three dishes in our take out order, one was barely edible and two were just nasty. Especially disappointed with the Sichuan boiled beef which was truly foul.Never. Going. Back.
My always go-to place for spicy Chinese food!! Very authentic
Customer service was excellent food was so delicious and fresh I ordered the. Chicken Lo mein I will definitely order from this restaurant again!!
Vegetarians or vegans stay clear. They don't know and don't care about meat broth in their sauces (typical for a lot of recipes); seems to be a don't ask, don't tell policy for that.EDIT: There you have it, straight from the owner. Small businesses can't cater to everyone so there are other options if you don't wanna eat animals in Ann Arbor. I'm sure the menu is lovely if you don't care about that.
Very very real and delicious Chinese food. The Food makes me emotional
If you enjoy spicy food, I highly recommend the Xinjiang style spicy chicken and spicy shrimp in hot pot. Yum.The portions are more than generous. I ordered 4 dishes and they can easily feed 8 adults. This is not the typical Americanized Chinese restaurant. People recognize that and celebrate the uniqueness. That’s something I love about Ann Arbor.
Had take out last night, food is delicious.
The old legacy authentic Chia Shiang is gone. This place has changed owner and the food is no where close to what was offered before.PS: The new owner replied below and I wish you the best luck developing practical skills after graduation from a culinary school. What matters is the final product, and not your degree. There is not many recent reviews and one other reviewer has also mentioned the ownership change and degradation of quality.
