Great food! We enjoyed the Mushroom Burger, the Roasted Veggie Bowl (with Tofu), the blueberry pancakes from the kids menu, the mushroom gravy, and the potato cakes.The Avocado toast plated well but wasn't as tasty (the avocado was bland and the toast had the overpowering bitter taste of olive oil) but everything else was top notch. Would highly recommend going to Avalon. Also, the staff was super polite and great hosts :)
We found this cafe while walking through downtown and trying to find a nice place to eat, and I am beyond glad that we stopped here! The service here was absolutely incredible! I unfortunately didn’t catch our server’s name, but she was training during our visit. She was wonderful to us! She was very attentive and extremely pleasant to talk to. The food and drinks were also amazing! I got the lavender lemonade and the may spring toast, and they were both delicious! Not only did they come out quickly, but they were also very reasonably priced. The overall atmosphere of this cafe was just so wonderful and comforting. I especially appreciated that they brought us water before we even ordered. We don’t live in the area, but I wouldn’t be above driving all the way to Ann Arbor just to eat here again! Thank you!! :)
Enjoyed the restaurant's decor. Open, well lit with natural light, significant use of wood. Great service. Quirky menu. Things like 'brown sugar lemonade.' Not bad, but...The food was good, neither I or my guest had an issue. But, the quirky menu, about only thing I could find that I'd like, was french toast. For a workday lunch. If it's something you like, it's easily a 4. Mine's 3 because the menu selection just didn't do it for me. Sort of like someone tried too hard to be 'unique.'

We ordered the potato tacos ($13) and brassica bowl with chicken ($13+$4 for protein) to try. See pics.Portions were decent to fill you. Flavor wise, not out of this world for the two dishes but still enjoyed them.Potato tacos... soft tortillas were filled and nicely topped with the egg. The sauce was meh... didn't do much on the plate. Maybe a little spice would've helped kick it up or add some citrus, like lime, or something to brighten it like cilantro or greens for garnish.Brassica bowl with the chicken added was very good. Liked the combination of ingredients. Healthy. Flavors relied on the mustard vinaigrette to dress this bowl. Wanted more of it. The hummus was more secondary for me. Didn't really need it. It would be good as a side with a slice of pita or something to dip. I would order this again.Definitely will go back to try other items on the menu!
The price is reasonable. The meals are also great.Especially the s’mores mocha, really nice!
This is my favorite A2 restaurant!! I love the healthy options and the incredibly unique spin they have to so many dishes :D And you can tell they are using and prepping FRESH things, not processed or re-heated. True quality and healthy food PLUS, the staff is crazy friendly! Cannot recommend them enough!
First time eating here and didn't know what to expect. We had a large group, they say it's right away and the service was great. I had a great cob salad and everything around me looked really tasty. Not your basic lunch
Every meal Ive had here has been very solid. Not mind blowing but in comparison to some of the other ridiculously priced brunch spots in AA it comes out on top for sure. And their bread is truly amazing, it’s the only bread I use for toast now!
We had a quick weekday lunch here and really enjoyed it. The service was prompt, the atmosphere was inviting and we both enjoyed our meals, as well as the potato cakes appetizer.
Had an amazing brunch with my crew! my gf and i ordered vegan & our friend got the soft scramble. Bread is amazing, avocados are perfect, potatoes are delicious... Their coffee is also fantastic! perfect brunch spot- literally drove 2 hours just to go here & will def come back.
