Veggie Quesadilla- menu reads “Spinach and mixed vegetables with jack cheese”. This quesadillas was far from it. A 3 yr old would probably assemble a quesadilla better than this! They literally melted the cheese and then added boiled, flavorless carrot and a green pepper (one piece each) in it with no sign of spinach. Poor management! No one will come to check if you need any refills on chips or soda. Will never go there again.
Food was absolutely amazing until I saw this, I was super disappointed. Though this isn’t the worst part. When I got my second plate of food the shrimp was the same way, and they didn’t even take the meal off of my bill, even though I didn’t even eat. I will never attend this place again and watch out for your safety because of their improperly cleaned food !!!
Here's the thing. I eat at a few Mexicali places. This one is really nice and relaxing. The staff is nice. But the food isn't great. It's good, it isn't bad but I feel like the food isn't made the greatest. I'd go eat again if I was in the neighborhood but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
Excellent margaritas! Carne asada was tasty. Blanco enchiladas with seasoned beef were great! Loved the refried beans, they have some part of the bean still recognizable - I am a fan of that style vs the fully blended version. Only downside is they charge extra for sour cream or guacamole- something I think should be included for the price.- just a scoop!
2nd time here. Margaritas were a bit weak. First one didn't have any salt on the rim even after the request. Papa fritas con steak was delicious and worth.
Staff is friendly and attentive, chips are fresh, and I appreciate that they had plenty of vegan options. Skinny marg is also quite good--lower on sugar than most skinny margs, because they use club soda to thin it out. I recommend!

Great experience over all. Fernando was our server and he was very good and responsive with us. We ordered some margaritas and enchiladas--cheese and mole respectively. We also got some queso. Everything was really good, affordable, and filling. Will recommend Mexicali in the future and will definitely be coming back!
The food was very good. The service was okay; typically spot on, but it was a busier time than when I have gone before. The servers and host/hostess are always very pleasant and accommodating. Everything is clean and the atmosphere is inviting. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
It was a Sunday night. Parking was easy. Entrance/hostess was good. Our table had plastic between us and nearby tables and waitresses wore masks for covid protection, food and drinks were good. They had vegetarian choices but not anything special. We would return to this restaurant in the future.
