It has been over 30 years since I spent time in West Africa, but the food memories have stuck with me. I had high hopes for Anokye Krom and the food met my expectations. I mix/matched banku with the palm nut stew, and it was delicious. I have fond memories of a little bar in Atakpame, Togo where I first had banku, and this brought me right back there. My companion had fufu with spinach stew. Yummy! (I've made fufu from yam flour at home, and it is NOT the same!) The fried yam and hot sauce as an appetizer was spot-on. In summary, lots of delicious food (leftovers!!!). Well worth the trip to Worcester from Boston.
I’ve been going to Anokye Krom for years, the food is wonderful. I love bringing my friends here any chance I get. The customer service is not the greatest, but the food makes it all worth it. I always joke with my other African friends that the worse the customer service, the better the food. This place deserves 10 stars for authentic, delicious food!
The decor is basic, but the staff is warm and helpful. The chef came to our table several times to explain the food and help us with the spice. Had the Waakye and Goat meat and Jollof Rice & Goat meat. The seasoning was delicious. The Goat Stew has an amazing aroma. The Goat in the stew was fall apart tender and flavorful. I loved the flavor. The heat of the stew was strong but couldn’t help but keep eating. The bar has limited options. Can’t wait to go back and bring friends to this hidden gem.
This newly opened branch of Anokye Krom offer customers a more African reception! The menu is typically Ghanaian and it's second to none in the area. Their waakye (rice and beans) is definitely a must try (beware of the very spicy but tasty shito condiment). The wait time can be very long but I guess the deliciousness of their foods make up for it. The owner and staff are very friendly. There is also ample parking available.
Love the food
I walked in to order food and I specifically asked a lady named Bernice not to add Gari because am pregnant, and when I got the food they have added Gari to it. When I called to let her know the mistake she has done, she was rather upset. If this is the customer service they have than I will edged people not to buy food from therebecause when they make mistakes they will get upset rather than the customer.
Great spot for Ghanaian food. At this newer location lunch service is pretty quick. Food tastes nice, with good sized portions. Nice sized dining area, so should have little wait for a table on an average day.
Fried chicken with the joll of rice ?
Their new place is friendly for dine in. The food was awesome this time round. Yummy ?
Food is good. Service is a little slow. Needs more help on the service side...food trumps service. But still work on service. Thank you
