A 4.5 ⭐️ on my food rating. Joy Garden is conveniently located inside the Watertown mall, one of the few establishments still open in the mall. Great variety of choices, you can pretty find anything you indulge except for a few things I love, soy milk and BBQ meat bun. Most of the dishes taste authentic and the only reason that it didn’t get a five star is probably for my personally biased choices.Customer service was friendly and quick. Reasonably priced items as well.Definitely recommended to try in Watertown.
Food was gross, 40$ for this. Small food portions, only a handful of protein, crab Rangoon’s were not fresh and tasted as if they were microwaved, the food was flavorless and the veggies were mushy from being over cooked. Very disappointed that I spent my hard earned money here. Too many good restaurants around to waste your money here. The only good thing about this place is that it’s pretty inside.
Our go-to Chinese restaurant for sure! Wait lines for dim sum lunch on Saturdays/Sundays can be brutal. But the food tastes good and is affordable. Plus their service is definitely one of the best we’ve ever experienced in Boston. Love it!!!
Passable food. Subpar and inconsistent service. Dim sum is decent, since there isn’t anything close by with such good parking in the metro west. Dinner can be inconsistent in the quality of the food as well. Definitely not my go to, but will do the job when I need my fix.
Delicious dim sum and desserts. Affordable prices. Nice ambiance. Everything was piping hot and tasted really fresh. The staff and servers were attentive and brought the dim sum dishes around often. It reminded me of going to dim sum restaurants in Malaysia. The food was great.Definitely try the sesame balls and egg tarts for dessert!
The good : fresh, authentic classic dim sum on carts, pork buns were excellent, easy parking (shopping mall) The bad: poor service - no waiter, no water, no tea without having to stop someone, about 1.5 hours wait on a Sunday (granted it was Father's Day) for lunch, a little too expensive for the quality (good but not fantastic)
Stand alone Chinese restaurant outside of Boston China town. Their dim sum dishes were very good quite authentic considering being on another side of the pacific from the birth place of dim sum. My favorite are shumai, chicken feet, and turnip cake. The restaurant is pretty large with plenty of seating, staff are friendly and helpful. They still push dim sum trollies around for you to choose the dishes, pretty cool.
Freshly made dim sum served daily until 3 pm. Takeout is available for the dim sum!
I loved it ! Large portion of dry fried green beans stir fried with a little chinese pickle, a really generous serving of white rice and a soda - a very reasonable lunch special. I couldn't resist ordering their crab rangoon - crispy, savory and arrived table side very, very quickly. Service was fast, efficient, and courteous. I stepped outside for a moment on my cell phone and my server very kindly waited by my table as I had left my purse & cell phone there. Will return.
An excellent experience. For an appetizer I had the spring rolls and the vegetarian duck, which were both cooked very well with the perfect balance of vegetables and seasoning. The tofu in the vegetarian duck was very good although perhaps misleading because it has zero taste of duck, so be sure to keep that in mind. For dinner I tried the bean curd (tofu) in chili sauce and the Buddhist delight pan fried noodles, and both were excellent. Silken tofu is used in the tofu in chili sauce which I thought was interesting, and the ma/la is perfectly balanced. They also add some vegetables with some added green pepper and peas. The Buddhist delight pan fried noodles were also very good, the noodles are a little thinner than what most other restaurants do but still delicious. Comes with properly cooked and well seasoned vegetables like bok choy and carrots, as well as an assortment of mushrooms and firm tofu. Highly recommend. One thing they keep in mind is they do have desserts but they don't list it on their regular menu, so be sure to ask for the dessert menu if you want it.
