I arrived in town late on a Sunday, which happens to be the day most restaurants in town closed early. Umi was the last place I called and I was their last customer at 9:30. They were nice, helpful and made me a fantastic teriyaki salmon dinner. I was looking for something other than pizza and I found perfection. It was delicious and I woke up the next morning feeling great!
Delicious and wide variety of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. We ordered avocado ball appetizer which I am used to being a tartare. It was not but very good. It was cooked inside with bits of mango. We also ordered 4 maki rolls, and salmon fried rice which had bits of roe and pineapple. Very good! Prices a little high but food was worth it. Very clean!
I ordered 2 different rolls for pickup and was given 2 of the same roll, which was neither of the rolls I ordered. They didn’t match the descriptions of either. When I called the manager got on the phone telling me I was wrong and tried to explain to me what crab looked like, giving the reason that he confirmed with the kitchen that my order was correct and that I just don’t know what crab looked like. I tried the rolls, they were not good so I called back and the manager again insisted I was wrong and then told me he would give me a refund and told me to never order the rolls again. Horrible management and customer service, I am disgusted and will never order from here again

This is our go-to sushi restaurant. The pricing is on a par with most every sushi restaurant, but the pieces are substantially larger than most. I always want a salmon skin hand roll, but it's not on the menu - but they will always happily make me one. Totally recommend Umi
Umi is consistently the best local sushi we rely on. They offer excellent sushi, maki, and sashimi, with especially good specialty rolls, and an excellent variety of Asian food. Give them a try.
Delicious food!! Everything I ordered was amazing, from the sushi to the orange chicken, it was all so good! Great service too and perfect for a date night. highly recommend!
A hidden gem in Waltham on Winter St at the 128 exit. Very friendly and attentive staff. Everything is delicious, fresh tasting and quickly prepared. My 3rd time back and will continue to eat there while I'm in the area.
Food and service were good here. I only ordered a couple of things on the menu and I had mainly gone there for the hot sake which was amazing. On the only reason I didn't give it a 5 star was because I didn't think the food was extremely flavourful as I would like but the service in the atmosphere was very nice
Stopped in first time on a quiet Sunday afternoon while on travel, staying at a nearby Waltham hotel. Good reviews got me in the door. Very warm and inviting staff. Owner/manager conversing with regulars and checking to make sure everything fine. Chef offered a gratis torched tuna sushi to start. Very nice. Was extremely happy with my simple assortment of maki - spicy tuna, unagi, and hamachi, and a cold Asahi! Very fresh seafood, excellent sushi rice and fine skills behind the counter. Look forward to a return visit when in the area.
