Excellent experience overall. Upbeat sophisticated vibe. Service was stellar. Professional, well-informed, welcoming and unpretentious. Cocktails excellent without a gouging price. Panko crusted haddock and chicken under a brick both with tremendous flavor without relying on heavy doses of salt. Fried clams were surprisingly as fresh and spot-on fried as anything I have tried from Ipswich northward. Lemon poppyseed cheesecake amazing. The cookie on top would be too addictive to sell by the box.

Great service from bar to check-in to wait staff and the food was excellent, we even had a great wine recommendation (Italian Nebbiolo form Piedmont) from our waiter.

Another perfect experience at The Federal! Every bite was a dream, from the raw oysters and other appetizers (crisp and tender calamari, a perfect caesar salad) to the delicious, perfectly cooked steaks. As incredible as the food is, the service is what truly makes this place stand out. Our server Sophia was charming and really funny, attentive but not overbearing! She attended to our every need and made sure we had a great time, and she was super patient with our big family. One last thing: they make a really excellent Manhattan!
Special occasion (birthday) night out. Service from all, including owner, was terrific. Timing of courses was spot on. Food was delicious and portions generous. Wine list is a bargain compared to others. We'll be back!
We had an excellent dinner. The filet mignon and beef Wellington are excellent! The Venetian martini was excellent. Noa is an excellent waitress. Having attended business dinners previously- I enjoyed the family dinner as well!

Very special place for any occasion. Extraordinary wine list. Great service (thanks, Noah!). Yes, it is a splurge, but worth every cent. This was my farewell meal in the USA, and it will remain in memory as a perfect evening.
