This is a new Egyptian/Lebanese place in Somerville. Nice, colorful decor. Very clean, playing Egyptian music in the background. Super friendly staff. Eggplant fries appetizer was hot and delicious. My foule plate looked great but was actually rather bland. They need to spice it up or get some hot sauce on the side. My boyfriend’s mushroom sandwich was decent, but a bit pricey.
Delicious food, very cute interior, very nice service. I love this spot and wish I lived closer so I could get it all the time. Everything is great, but I really recommend the Koshari, and the "chicken" sandwich. INCREDIBLE.The photos are the falafel, and the Kofta Pane (which is made with Impossible). Not anything on the menu I would refuse though, and you have to get dessert too, don't skip it!
Food is expensive, portions small. I ordered the mushroom shawarma and kabe kofta; $46.Mushroom shawarma is okay, very garlicky sauce. Rice was dry and over cooked. The kabe kofta is impossible meat battered and deep fried. For $20 I was expecting an entree, not an appetizer. The restaurant is understaffed. Sweet ladies, but the ratio of staff to customer for dinner service meant the waitstaff was overworked.
Absolutely delicious! Very cute inside too. The mushroom shawarma was delicious. Big portions too. The mezze platter was also good, but for $18 it felt a bit underwhelming (the whole wheat pita bread also wasn’t the most fresh tasting. Would have preferred white). But the shawarma was incredible so 5 stars and for $11 an awesome price point. I swapped salad for the chips!
Great vegan Egyptian street food!
I just love this place! The food is amazing and so is the service. Everything always tastes fresh and yummy! The owners are very friendly and patient with everyone who has special requests! My favorite things to eat there are the mushroom shawarma sandwich or bowl and the spicy" chicken" sandwich. The Koshari is the best I've eaten! Authentic, filled with flavors and to the point! My husband, who really loves his meat loved the food and would not mind eating there often! I highly recommend Koshari Mama for vegans and non-vegans alike!
this sh*t was fire. the sampler platter was a bang and so was that other dish idr the name of. good portions !!!
Beautiful Experience at this New Restaurant! The host Twisha was absolutely the pinnacle of excellence in the multiple roles she fulfilled as Host, Server and genuine loving and friendly human being. The Chef's created visually stunning artworks with each item we ordered only to be surpassed by the taste! The smoothie with dates was amazing! Perfect balance of sweetness and they were wonderfully accommodating as we asked for a mixture of strawberries, mango and banana that wasn't a option on the menu. The Egyptian Black Tea was super smooth just as she described. The handcut fresh cut French Fries were excellent. My Sister thought she ordered an entrée that we saw online and didn't realize it was a pita pocket and not a sub roll and they were so generous and loving that they brought it out afterwards on the house. The Owner came out at the end to meet us and was so appreciative! I can't wait to go back and try all the menu items! Highly recommended!
Always so friendly, always so delicious! My roommate and I love to drop in for a yummy and filling meal (you really can't go wrong with the koshari, but everything is great!)The best part is that you still feel great even after you've stuffed yourself :) Also, love the sahlab! Highly recommended if you've never heard of it before (and if you have)!(Though I also love the pickled vegetables, I can't get enough of them)
First time having vegan food was here. Amazing taste! The women who own Koshari Mama are some of the kindest and driven people I’ve ever met. They use nothing but the freshest ingredients, and make everything from scratch.
