This was a fantastic little spot! I was visiting Boston with some friends and was recommended this restaurant because some of its Nepalese dishes It has a very small dining area but still remains inviting and spacious. We were immediately greeted by the owner who sat us quickly while being very excited to see new faces. We all ordered something different since this type of food is able to be shared with the table. Also side note, i'm generally pretty good when it comes to spicy levels but when the owner says its spicy, heed the warning! Everything was delicious and cooked quickly so we didn't wait very long. To get to the bathroom you must walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom in the back (the bathroom is tiny). Along the way you're greeted by the kitchen staff and you almost feel like you're one of the family! Overall this was a very very nice experience to have before our Jonathan Van Ness comedy show! Would definitely come back and 100% recommend! Happy eating!
What an awesome experience. The owner Jay was so welcoming and warm and the food was absolutely delicious! I was dealing with stomach issues so couldn’t eat all the authentic Nepali food but I’ll definitely be back for more when I’m fully recovered. There Momos are so good! Some of the best dumplings I’ve had and the way they cook their meats is absolutely amazing. The coconut rice dessert was a great way for us to close out. Definitely recommend for the hospitality and food. This is the type of restaurant that neighborhoods are built on!
The second we walked we were greeted with such a smile, high energy and cheerfulness. Jay asked us if we had been there before and helped guide through the menu with excellent recommendations. We felt so taken care of and the food was outstanding. There are endless options. Jay really made our day with his passionate personality and genuine kindness. We highly recommend visiting Himalayan Kitchen in Somerville. We can’t wait to go back.
Small place to dine in. Servers are good. We had chicken chilli and chicken chyoila. Tried chyoila for the first time. It was fine but really liked the chicken chilli. It’s a hit and try. Some of the dishes are really well made while some are just there. Worth giving it it try if you like Indian food.
If you want some truly great Momos, come here. If you want anything else, come here. Jay is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet and the food is incredible. Huge selection of Himalayan and classic sandwich shop foods. Can't wait to go back.
I enjoyed my goat meat & chicken wings! Food were served hot and fresh, and Friendly staff.
Incredible momos, the best I’ve had in the US in over 10 years of trying Indian and Nepali food here. Fried momos were fried to perfection and the owner of the restaurant, Jay, was very nice and friendly. Loved it!
I have eaten many different cuisines and indian also my most favorite but since I traveled to Boston I was disappointed by Indian restaurants services overall. First of all they provided plastic dishes and there is no side or salad plus rice portion was very small. It surely doesn't worth the price though still delicious
Some of the best takeout I’ve gotten in the area I felt like I had to write a review. I tried the samosas, chicken tikka masala, goat biryani, and garlic naan. Everything was incredible. The chicken tikka was one of the most flavorful and rich I’ve ever had. Excellent flavors all around and tasted so fresh. I can’t wait to order from here again!
Authentic Nepalese cuisine of great variety, run as an immigrant family business. Delicious food and great for the price!
