Had a lovely dinner and drinks here with a friend, what a great neighborhood restaurant! The service was wonderful, felt taken care of and never rushed. Drinks and food arrived quickly. Loved the Somerville Sunburn cocktail, and also enjoyed my food - homemade potato chips and caramelized onion dip, short rib gnocchi and a hot fudge brownie sundae. Will return :)
One of my favorite spots for cocktails and people watching. Crowded and you'll need to wait, but it's worth it. Great food menu too.

Tasty food, interesting mix of American, carribean, and other cuisines. Drink program is great too - the cocktails are delicious.In better weather they've got good outdoor seating in the parking lot behind the restaurant. Indoor seating is really pleasant, but fairly tight if you're worried about covid.
I'd never been there before but the staff was absolutely wonderful. My friend and I got the fried plantains, buffalo brussel sprouts and gnocchi, and then jumbalya for dinner. Everything was perfect and had a great kick for those who like spice. The location felt small and the tables were small but id go again in a heartbeat
Recently went with friends that live in Summerville. We now see why it’s their favorite spot. Can’t say enough good things about the place. The bartender’s, food, and vibe are all on point.
The place is crowded with locals with good reason. The food and service is very good with great atmosphere. The beer selection is extensive and mainly small brew house favorites. The fresh catch is good. The goat stew is wonderful - be careful if you are weary of spices. Enjoyed the Buffalo sprout appetizer and the salads are good too.
Terrible experience whit a bartender girl!Everything was fine while we where eating dinner, but after Pay around 500 $ on food the bartender don’t wanted to sell us couple drinks, asking for our ID which we gave her!My friend and I have ID from our country and it says our legal age for drink and she went like a totally Karen asking us for prove of the ID like passport or born certificate!Everything end up we leaving the bar upset! When we wanna know her name for the review she just ran out !So sad, cause we are visiting and we just wanted to have a nice night hangin out!First and last time going to that place !
Highland Kitchen's good and drinks always hit the mark. So good, every time. The service is also excellent.
I had high expectations for this place. The interior & ambiance were underwhelming. The service was quick & efficient. Our server was adequate. We wanted the drink special. They didn't have it. We wanted the appetizer special. They didn't have it. We ended up with the Buffalo Brussel sprouts, they were tasty. We also got the fish tacos. They were underseasoned. I got the HK cheeseburger. It was underseasoned & the bottom bun was hard as a rock. The drinks were tasty but small & weak. All in all, I expected more & better.
