This is one of those great examples of a bakery cafe that Is a WOMEN owned and everything is made from the ground up were flavor and quality is the core of the business. Bakery owners like Alexis that owns crust bake shop in Worcester should visit this place for a better lesson in the field of culinary arts. Her place pales in comparison. Boston area is still number 1 when it comes to Bakery business. And when I see reviews with over priced there is a coffee shop in Hudson Wild Hare that makes sourdough bread and baked goods do cost enough.

A longtime favorite, I used to come here early before work for a coffee with friends or to hang out on weekends. Sure it gets busy but I love the pastries and watching the bread makers in the back. It's lots of fun on a snow day when you have to trudge through to earn your coffee and scone

Way overpriced. Veggie club was intended to taste like a cold deli meat sandwich. It was disgusting. Espresso was burnt to a crisp and so gross neither my partner nor I could finish it. Bread was mediocre at best.No idea why this place appears to be popular. Literally worst bakery/cafe I’ve been to in the greater Boston area.

beware of $6 lattes and $15 sandwiches that are barely subpar. i always regret going here - everything is over priced, the food is barely average, and it always takes 20-30 minutes just for an espresso drink even if you order ahead online. the sister cafés diesel and bloc are the same way - just overpriced hipster shops taking over somerville. i recommend supporting other more efficient and better quality small local businesses in the area like 3 little figs and revival.

All I want is 3 plain bagels, not sliced or toasted and a large cream cheese and somehow they make this an unpleasant experience. I place the order at the kiosk, they refuse to take your order or accept cash (illegal). I order at the Kiosk . There are 2 people working and one standing in the front not taking peoples orders, otherwise the place is empty. When my order is complete the person at the front puts my cream cheese in a bag and then continues to just stand there doing nothing. When I inquire about my bagels I am told it will be a few minutes??! I inform them all I want is three uncut bagels put in a bag, I am told I will have to wait a few minutes, the bagels are 20 feet away and this person is just standing there. When I insist they walk 20 feet and put the bagels in a bag so I can be on my way they walk over and as they grab a bagel they are stopped by the person at the espresso machine and told to make me wait!!!! When I finally loose it the owner comes over and doesn't ask what the problem is and try to resolve it but tells me to leave!

Fabulous baked goods. Their savory monkey bread and biscuits were amazing, and all their bread is fantastic.

Very overpriced for standard quality goods.I buy a lot of bread around Boston, and the standard everywhere is very high. I bought a sourdough here for $8. This is very overpriced. The size and quality were the same as I would expect in the many good artisan bakeries that we have. It was the price that was different.$5 would have been appropriate for the loaf, $6 would have been expensive. $8 was outlandish. On top of this, their touch screen ordering process automatically adds a fixed service charge to the cost of the loaf, then offers you to add a further tip on top of this in several suggested amounts.I was left with the feeling that they are somewhat pompous and out of touch with competitive reality. Can’t see this place being there for the long term.

Forge is a excellent coffee shop/cafe for any time of day (yay that rhymes). Delicious breads, sandwiches and coffees. Love it.

Forge is located in a strip mall. The quality of baked goods from Forge is high but there are a couple of minor annoyances that prevent me from going more often. First, you are not able to order from a person even if you go in person, and as a result it's hard to ask any questions about any of their items. Second, it's $5.75 for a baguette. Yes, it is a good baguette but this is the most expensive baguette I've ever purchased and I'm no stranger to fancy bakeries. The other items are interestingly more in line with what I expect nice bakery items to cost.. oh well.

This place was fantastic... But it has dropped in quality. The baked goods are also half the size they used to be.
