We entered the restaurant for Sunday lunch. There was outdoor and indoor seating available. Because of the heat, we sat indoors which was comfortable. We had an attentive waiter and the staff did their best to assure a good meal. We ordered sandwiches and other lunch fare. All selections were very good and moderately priced. We enjoyed the food and the presentation. If there is any drawback, this is a noisy restaurant. They could turn the tunes down a bit to lessen the noise. Perhaps the best part of our lunch was the helpful manager/owner. We were in Salem for a couple of hours and were confused about what to do. Already, we had found the town disappointing and crowded. We were given good tips about what to see, especially since we were traveling with kids. Recommendations pointed us to more authentic experiences than the sensationalizing tourist traps which seemed to abound.
Made dinner reservations for a Monday evening in August, but could have easily gotten in without them. Server was friendly and food came out quick including my husband’s beer. We started with the pretzel appetizer and the cheese and mustard were both good. My daughter and I shared the Po’ boy shrimp tacos and chicken Parm tacos. We both liked the large, lightly battered shrimp better, however both were good, not great, but good. (Good seems to be the word of this review. ☺️) My husband had the fish and chips and he was very happy. The atmosphere was pleasant and the restaurant was clean. In all I would say there are better Eats in Salem, but the location to our hotel factored into the decision. It was nearly 100 degrees today and we were making our way back to the AC. Our favorite restaurant in Salem was Finz, but don’t get the fish and chips there. If you want fish and chips, go to The Derby.
Service on a Tuesday night (place was quarter full) was absolutely terrible. Not sure if it was our waiters first week working, beers, simple drafts never came until we asked three times, over 20 minutes. Food order took over 30 minutes to be brought us! We again asked for a second round of beers, same ones, never received after once again a 25 minute wait. Promptly cancelled and asked for check. Manager quickly did come over to apologize and offer free beverages. However, at that point we were done. Sorry it ended that way, Iâm sure staffing is short, however, the wait for simple items was unacceptable.
The food was decent (though I’m still convinced I didn’t get the chicken I ordered and paid for on my nachos - can’t see any in the picture and I didn’t taste any when I ate it), staff was friendly, restaurant was clean and had a fun atmosphere.
Enjoyed a nice dinner on the patio. Great service!
We had a group of 6 and the food took a little while to come out and it was not very busy. Once the food did come it was very good and the service was good
Took awhile for the food to come out (not very busy), but once it came out the food was delicious
My family and I went and had dinner here while visiting on a road trip and it was fantastic! Plenty of tables, very friendly as soon as we walked in. Our server Hailey was super friendly and sweet! Went with her recommendation of chicken parm tacos and it was delicious. Very generous portions, great drinks. When you get great food and great service you want to shout it out!!!!
I haven’t been out much because of the pandemic-so I’ve been saving $$$ and waiting for the right timing - - my sister came to visit from Colorado and we very much enjoyed the outdoor lunch and fantastic staff/service for lunch this past week - ✨✨ thank you for a great experience
We had some apps and beer with our little dog on the patio mid-afternoon. Service was great: attentive and quick. Our server brought our dog a bowl of water. The Italian egg rolls are delicious and the chicken tenders are for real!
