Server was bad and strawberries tasted frozen not fresh. Portions are small for the price.Server was really bad. Very disappointed with this meal.

Food was definitely 5*, but the service was lacking severely this morning for breakfast. Service was 5* yesterday for service and food. I believe our server today was Taylor. She was great to start out. But then she disappeared. She finally came back to check on us. My friend needed more coffee as it had been empty and also needed more syrup. I works have liked more water. By the time she came back, I was done eating, so my friend didn't want more coffee or syrup. She told us that she was signing up for insurance. I'm sorry...we're customers. If you're going to do that, have another server check on your tables. After that, she was very short with us and not courteous at all. She was good when she was there. I get is work related, but customers are first.I would have breakfast there again.

While in Salem with another couple we stopped here for a leisurely lunch. We were seated at a corner table. They were very busy but our server was very capable. They offer a nice lunch menu which is somewhat predictable with many sandwiches and salads. Sandwiches are offered with a choice of slaw, cucumber salad or french fries. If you want a large portion of food, get the french fries. My husband and I both had them and took most of them home. If I return I will likely order their specialty grilled cheese. As you might expect restrooms are beautiful and clean. There is parking in their lot in the rear of the hotel. There is also parallel parking along the streets surrounding the building.

The room was beautiful and not packed at all. The food was amazing; so amazing, I couldn't finish it all. My hubby and I both got the Hearty Hawthorne Breakfast and it was delicious. I love that the bacon and sausages are not greasy at all. Your syrup is right there in a cute little pitcher.

Was here to conduct a film interivew. The hotel was lovely and gorgeous, the staff were so kind and professional and my colleagues who did get to eat here found the food delicious (I didn't get a chance while I was working, but wanted to!).

Just got back from a a three night stay at the Hotel. We had breakfast there every day because the food there is yummy. My husband loved the Hearty breakfast (although he did say he could have done without the potatoes) and I am hooked on their waffles or oatmeal. But the best part was Laura, our server. She is kind, funny and checks up on you as if you were a guest in her home. On our last day we walked by to take our suitcases to the car before coming back for breakfast. She came to the door to find our if we wanted to take coffee to go or something else for the road. Beyond sweet!

Great food. Good selection of items. I had dinner and breakfast there. Loved both. There are not many people in it, and you can enjoy quiet time.

So I got the Hawthorn special breakfast. My over easy eggs were super fried, the sausage was similar to petrified wood, the potatoes were dehydrated yet oily at the same time, and my french toast needed therapy. All for 18 dollars... It was horrible. Scariest thing in Salen so far.

Amazing ?

Located within the Hawthorne Hotel, this quaint restaurant is tucked off the lobby and features crowded tables with cushiony chairs. Smaller menu but something for every kind of eater. Atmosphere was upscale but the service was painfully slow. Drinks and entrees both came out slow, which is an odd occurrence in such a tourist-oriented city. Our waiter was very friendly but not apologetic for the wait. Recommended for those seeking brunch with friends or those wishing to have an all-night visitation with company over food and drinks.
