In town for a wedding and the food, atmosphere, and music were great. Highly recommend the steak tips with salad and seasonal vegetables. Will definitely come to Mercy Tavern when I’m in town again.

Great food and craft cocktails in a local neighborhood
We arrived in Salem last Saturday and went straight to Mercy Tavern for lunch. I got the fish tacos which were excellent and my hubs got wings and truffle fries. (The fries need more truffle!!!!)I got a few Butterfly Kisses with gin (upcharged for wanting Bombay instead of rack gin) and he got a few rounds of Zombie Dust ale.We ate and tied a slight buzz on and felt great! Service was good and everyone seemed happy..... kitchen was crazyyyyy slow... (or maybe I was just starving to death, idk.... either way,it took a long time for food to come out) but overall, great choice for lunch in Salem!!
Got wings and a burger. Their hot and sweet wings tasted fresh, amazing flavor, and blue cheese sauce was excellent. The burger was super satisfying, cooked perfectly, juicy. Fries were great, although mine weren't that hot.I'd definitely come back if I'm near the area again.I ordered a drink but it was a bit strong and wasnt memorable for me.The room was also hot and humid, they just had fans going.
My friends and I went here after our psychic Bailey suggested we go for dinner. She said the food was the best in the city, and after a week of subpar fries and tourist traps, I have to agree! I had the impossible burger and was relieved by how good it was. The cocktails were expensive but delicious and a heavy pour. I had the Beetlejuice and would recommend. Loved the vibe of the people there who are obviously locals and enjoying themselves. Our server was efficient and nice. I feel bad leaving a review because I don't want the tourists to find this place but it was so tasty!
Loved this tiny little bar. Super friendly bartender with good banter, and friendly folks willing to share the bar to make room for us. We didn't eat but the food looked damn good and seemed to be coming out very fast. Good beer selection, and a cool little spot to stop for a break from sightseeing. Will definitely return someday.
Absolute gem. Halloumi Salad to die for! followed by the mercy burger (I ate it so quick I forgot to take a picture) The fries that came with the burger had roasted garlic bulbs tossed with them we were blown away. Details on point. Happy Sunday
Small, but mighty place just down the street from the House of the Seven Gables. I stopped in for lunch just before my tour. Small and packed, but full of happy and enthusiastic people, the staff took care of me even though it was very busy. I had more than one person attending my table of one, and both were wonderful and attentive. I had the Mercy Burger, which was a double patty with bacon onion jam, cheese, and garlic aioli and fries. I had just finished a four hour walking tour in Boston, so it was the perfect meal to satisfy me! I also had a gin based drink and a vodka based drink, both of which were light, refreshing, and full of tang and flavor! Again, service was fast, friendly, accommodating. Menu is simple: burgers, grilled cheese, steak tips, fish tacos, and more. Worth a stop to get a bite between tourist spots and to get that local feel.
Mercy Tavern is an excellent restaurant located near all the sights of Salem. The local beers were tasty, and the nachos and coconut fried cod was delectable. Will be returning!
