Fun place made me feel like a kid again. After a very cool historical ghost tour through the Witch City, Salem, MA, we walked by this sweet shop.Large variety of fantastic sweets, treats, and eats. Lots of gourmet candies that would make great gifts. Attached ice cream parlor serving up a lot of flavors. There's a 'baby' size for getting a taste and bigger sizes if you want a lot or want to try multiple frozen delights.Green Monster (mint Oreo and fudge) and Moose Tracks were my combo. Mrs. Wally got Blueberry Pie.Staff was super friendly and made good recommendations. Definitely worth a visit. Bring cash or your ATM card, they only take cash at the moment.

You won't be disappointed. Maria's has a lot to offer. Wide selection of candies and ice cream. I got the snickers, Yum!

I don’t know if I’ve cream is different where we’re from, but my mom ordered a strawberry sundae, which was a flavor offered…and was looked at like she was insane when she suggested that a strawberry sundae was in fact vanilla ice cream with a strawberry topping. Despite it being a flavor of sundae offered, they told her it couldn’t be made. They had hot fudge though, would she like hot fudge with strawberry ice cream? Um, no. She told them she’d have a hot fudge sundae with vanilla ice cream, which they still managed to not do well, as it was mostly hot fudge and barely any ice cream at all.My daughter is telling me she had what looked like popcorn chunks in her cotton candy ice cream. Wish I would’ve known that at the time. And when I ordered a caramel frappe, I got looked at like I was the one confused. Asked what kind of ice cream I wanted to use? Said they didn’t have caramel flavor, she could put vanilla in, then was told to use hot butterscotch. The main problem is that they are misusing the word “frappe” as that is by definition a coffee based drink. What I received was a cup of warm melted ice cream. This could not be confused with a milkshake, a frappe, or any other beverage, it was simply a room temperature cup of melted ice cream. I was too upset to complain, just threw it away. The two that were working were not friendly and not helpful. And obviously didn’t know what they were doing.

I think the ice cream is more popular for tourists in the summer and fall, but the real star of this shop is the chocolates. Those are definitely not some herseys brand bulk purchase, which the ice cream likely is. Not to knock it, ice cream is satisfying all on its own! They have a delightful mix of handmade bonbons, pralines, bars, and other confections. I think if they had some more interesting seasonal flavors it might add some appeal for the residents here or just adults looking for something more sophisticated. Maybe a raspberry or a rosemary gelato? Overall a good experience and a family friendly venue with nice staff. Do note they only want cash for the ice cream, which is massively inconvenient since no one under 85 carries cash and wants to pay an ATM fee in their store. They should get a square payment center so we can tip the staff and pay by card. This place is sweet but needs a little polish and a step into the 21st century. The mold on the ceiling is also definitely a health code violation.

Cute shop, but the owner was very abrasive. In between taking our order she was yelling at the teen girls working there, particularly one girl, everything from writing her time wrong on her punch card to her sweatshirt to her nose ring. It was incredibly awkward and we felt quite bad for the girls working there. Was a pretty hostile environment.

Their ice cream is really good but I went with two other friends we noticed it was cash only at the ice cream place so thought we would sit down to think of what we should do and before we had even sat down the person at the counter said “are you really going to use all three of those chairs. We have lots costumers and you can’t just sit there if you’re going you’re not buy anything.” (There was literally two other people in the whole store and they were downstairs looking at the chocolates.) And then one of my friends got up to buy a brownie so we could stay for just a minute to charge my friends phone cause we didn’t have enough for ice cream since they don’t take card. As my friend was paying for the brownie my other friend took out her charger and the lady loudly and rudley said “now you’re wasting our electricity and taking up three chairs we need” we just left. And the brownie was dry and crumbly it felt like I was eating dirt.

Went there for tonight for Salem’s So Sweet . Bought some great items plus Maria gave us a generous bonus chocolate gift for the event plus fun raffles to boot . A great place to visit any day of the year

Great chocolates. Of course I was a tourist, but the truffles and fudge were delicious. Brought some home to Alabama for my mom and she loved it too! So many flavors! We also got hot cocoa.

This shop smelled heavenly with all the sweet convections. Good ice cream and drinks as well with a few seats and cute kitschy merchandise.

Delicious turtles. And cozy atmosphere. I recommend a stop here.
