Walked by as I hadn't eaten all morning and it was almost three in the afternoon. I'm visiting from California for a wedding. I'm the only patron there today. I ordered the cheeseburger. It came on a red lattice plastic tray evoking feelings of a nostalgic past I was too young to experience. The fries are perfectly cooked and salted. The bun was fresh and the meat was juicy and well done.The best part was the service. I stared out the window imagining living here, in Salem, across the street. I stared at the wooden ship model named Paula. The server joked I was enjoying the view of the traffic, placed her hand on my shoulder and made me feel like I've lived here all my life and have always eaten here. We talked about how the fountain coke I ordered was perfectly sweetened compared to modern sodas from the bottle.I'm glad I came here, and I hope you do too.
Deb! This woman, those cooks the potatoes!! It was so delicious, so wonderful from start to finish. The casual conversation and amazing food made us feel right at home.
If you are looking for a great place for breakfast, this is it! The hash is homemade, the portions are large, the coffee is good, and the service is excellent! I was visiting the area for a few days and ate here twice it was so good!
Fantastic service and fantastic food. This diner hits all the spots for comfort food. A little more pricey than a usual diner, but portions are good sized for it. Highly recommend stopping here if you get the chance.
Absolutely disgusted to find multiple pieces of hair in my food. The pancakes had pieces of hair embedded into it. Everything else was fine, we had an amazing waitress, but I would not go there again because I've never found that many pieces in my food before.
So I love this place but... the price and menu changes turn me away. I mean, a burger with home fries? What is that?? They did come with fries who does home fries with a burger?? Now they have almost doubled they’re charges. I liked their food but for the price it’s just not worth it. For $10.99 you can go to Chili’s and get burger with fries and a salad! They’re taking advantage of inflation prices more than they should. I most likely won’t be back!
I'm a local who hadn't been here in years. I was more than impressed. Im a breakfast nut so it takes a bit to really impress me. The FOOD, SERVICE, MENU OPTIONS, and friendly vibe was 5 stars. I USUALLY DONT LEAVE REVIEWS BUT... Best around. PS. The prices are very fair.
Amazing food with great service. Top 3 Diner I've ever eaten at. Made to orderOnion rings, hand breaded chicken, great burger. We brought our large family and the team took care of us. Eat here, you will leave happy and full!
Amazing lobster roll!! Packed with lobster claws, and I do mean PACKED! There is a light mayo dressing, and some lettuce on a hot dog roll. Yummy!Prices are reasonable and the menu has great variety! Used to pass by this place, and never realized what kind of restaurant it was. Boy, have I been missing out on great food!
Try the Chicken and Waffles. The fried chicken was some of the best fried chicken I've ever had and we're from southern Louisiana. Also had really good coffee. I am so glad we tried Dotty & Ray's.We will definitely be back the next time we're in the area.
