Ordered Margherita and beef & blue. They both were fantastic!Dough is light, thin, has a nice chew to it. You could taste the basil throughout the pizza om the Margherita. The beef & blue was a tad too salty after a couple of slices.Highly recommend!
Bambolina and Kokeshi are in the same restaurant now, and you can order off both menus! Beautiful lunch date with my wife at the joint kitchen. Ordered apps off both menus and a bowl of ramen and split everything. Friendly and quick service. Good prices. Great food! Italian and Japanese are fun to mix together. Highly recommended!
Looked at the reviews and menu in advance and was Expecting 10/10 experience. Food was Good but not spectacular. Pizza was ok, could’ve added more Toppings, food Took a long time to come out for what it was, it was not busy while we were in. Noodles were fine, but nothing to write home about. Was expecting more.
First of all, not all in our group agrees with me but, I am 60 years of age and have eaten many pizzas and been to many restaurants. The pizza was not tasty, toppings i ordered were minimal at best. First white base cheese pizza i have had with red sauce. And the sauce was very sweet. The server spilled oil from the pizza on my new jacket and never even gave notice of the spill. My son saw the whole thing. I have tried to clean the jacket and its not coming out. Very inconsiserate. We spent over $500. And will not return
What a great place with with such a wide variety of options! Not only do you have the traditional Italian with wood fired pizza, but they also have an Asian menu with the most delicious dumplings we've had! My daughter had the udon and I had a salad and pizza. It was all delicious, the staff was very attentive and friendly, and we loved the atmosphere!
We had the Margherita and Soppresata pizzas and they were incredible and quick, and the house made chili oil was surprisingly fantastic on everything!
We went here for dinner on a Saturday night and got right in. Service was quick and there was a decent flow of people in and out over the 45 minutes we were there. Margarita pizza was excellent, I would highly recommend it. We also got a pizza with a type of sliced beef and a garlic sauce with onions and honey I believe, which sounded interesting, but wasn't for us. The crust was still excellent on it, so I can't take points off for that. It seems like they have some standard menu items and rotating special pizzas. Oddly they do different Asian dishes here and they looked excellent and many people were ordering them. I would definitely go back and stick with a more traditional type of pizza or maybe try a noodle bowl.
The pizza had a weird charcoal taste like the oven needed to be cleaned.. not a clean burnt flavor like it should have been. Spots were sticking to bottom of pizza . Other than that the pizza was still good. Not the best pizza but the only pizza that style in salem that I have seen recently. The mushroom fettuccine was very good. Flavorful and delicious.
BAMBOLINA/KOKESHIDERBY ST SALEMHip pizza joint in historic Salem. Not your run of the mill pizza, these pies are cooked in their 900+ degree, wood burning pizza oven, and their toppings are extraordinary. We tried 5 different pies. We also got the Grilled Caesar salad and some (kid size) pork belly ramen. (Kokeshi is Bambolinas sister restaurant and you can order from either menu). All the pies were great, but my favorite was the Rosso (we added cheese) fantastic!! The San Marzano chunky tomato sauce is the highlight of this pie. I could have eaten a bowlful!! The pies are small, about 11" so it's best to buy a few and share. My brother enjoyed the Beef and Bleu pie and the pepperoni and hot pepper pie. The Forest Mushroom was really good too. Service was excellent, the restaurant is handicap accessible, gender neutral bathrooms, and a parking lot nearby. My only suggestion would be to replace the hard wood seats with something more comfortable.
My husband and I were on our way home from NH, and decided to stop for lunch in Salem, MA. We googled Bambolina, and decided to give it a try. On a cold, Breezy Sunday afternoon, we found off street parking and walked over. As we walked in, 90's rock was playing, so great! Very modern style restaurant. We ordered two pizzas, and watched as they were made fresh and fast in the awesome oven right in our view! This restaurant also serves Asian Street Food that I was almost tempted to try, but had the pizza craving all weekend. Fantastic flavor, tomato sauce was divine. Can't wait to go back in the summer! Keep up the great work!
