Ww were expecting way more. Service was subpar, food OK. Thursday night, not extremely busy. Bartender claimed they had reservations at tables so we could sit at bar or outside. Too cold so we sat at bar. It took at least 10 min to get a drink. We ordered an app right away. Drinks OK, wings were a bit over done but fine. We order our mains quickly. Took a while to get second drinks. Food took a long time. Nobody sat in dining room where they said was booked. After 30+ min, we saw our food under heating lamp but bartender took two other drink orders, then another food order then chatted with customers while our food sat for another 10 min. When we alerted her, she brought our food. Very dry salmon very over done. Noodles were good, Brussels were mushy. I sent the salmon back becauseit just wasn't good... they refired which took 15-20 but again very dry and not great. We shook it off, had another drink, met nice people at bar.. but got no apologies, no admission, no concessions... thought a drink on her would have gone a long way... but just a nice hefty bill for two for about $200. not impressed with food but mostly service was disappointing.
Plymouth is a good rendezvous spot for folks who live near Boston to meet friends who live on the Cape. That’s what brought us to Tasty on a cool Saturday night in April. Although we understand the changes that are needed because of the pandemic, we were a little off-put by the restaurant’s policy of limiting the duration of the meal (an hour-and-a-half for parties less than four; an hour-and-forty-five- minutes for parties of four or more). We needn’t have been concerned about that or anything else. The restaurant is small, but the waitresses manage the flow very efficiently and with aplomb. The drinks are wonderful, with accommodations made for individual requests. Every dish we had was excellent. The duck dumplings were perfect spicy little packets of yumminess, and the wings were sticky, messy, and tasty. Every morsel of the dishes we had – one chicken, two fish, and one beef – was perfectly seasoned, delicious, and eaten with relish. We also had the same reactions to the desserts, carrot cake and lemon pound cake. We’re not sure if it was the timing or the night (or because we’re such nice guests), but no one said a word or looked askance as our stay extended to two and a half hours. When you go, make sure to read the message on the mirror in the bathroom. It’s just one more thing about Tasty that will put a smile on your face.
Never a bad meal at The Tasty! One of our favorite spots. Love the brussel sprouts, wings and Nori fries!
Enjoyed the environment! Busy night on a cold snowy evening. Sat at the window bar enjoying the people passing by. Food and drinks were just right and the service was wonderful! I'd definitely go again.
These guys are a legit farm-to-table restaurant. They buy veggies from my organic vegetable farm (Skinny Dip Farm) every single week of the year. We love the care and creativity they put into making our veggies even more delicious!
I had a really awful experience at this restaurant, from the ambiance down to literally never even receiving our meal. We made reservations and ordered our meal & never received it, however they were very quick to deliver your drink. I started feel really nauseous from their drinks and actually got sick in the bathroom. Our table had two servers & one of them was very odd acting. I kept asking her when our food was going to come out. Finally we left. Completely awful experience.
I always heard great things about this restaurant so I thought my husband & I would give a try. Warning. Do not fall for the “Farm to Table” song and dance. I got horribly sick from their food. I don’t think it’s fresh what so ever. I was sick for a whole night and it had to be their food, because the last thing I ate that day before eating at their establishment was a muffin.
Moved its way up the list of my favorite places in Plymouth very quickly! Every experience we have had here has been great, awesome food and friendly staff. The Nori Fries, chicken wings and duck dumplings are a must. Their noodles were very good and we want to come back on noodle night!Steak was cooke perfectly and the cream sauce was amazing. The salmon was fresh and full of flavor.
My wife and I have been coming here regularly since they first opened. Fantastic food, great service, and the owners are talented and professional. Whenever people ask us where to eat in downtown Plymouth, we always highly recommend The Tasty.
to respond to the business,I did think the Nori fries were tasty and about the right price (current days) based on portion size. It’d be a smart idea to split with someone else so it’d be $5 each. but the lo mien I got without chicken bc I’m a vegetarian, costed me $20 + the fries — came out to $32. It’s shocking that it cost that much nowadays for what you get, but besides that, I’ve had many lo mien dishes and this tasted way off.. I was def not a fan. I had to get rid of it, throwing away the most expensive dish I paid for :( I had high hopes for the noodles since they consider Tuesday, noodle night. I guess I just had high hopes for a good noodle dish but this wasn’t what I expected.
