Wonderful experience with takeout!! Very friendly owner and sushi chef, appreciated the care put into the food and how quick it was! Would love to dine in sometime, clean looking space, authentic fresh rolls, and welcoming feel. Will be back again soon!
This small, unpretentious neighborhood restaurant is not at all fancy, but the quality of the food exceeds that in many more elegant places. The sushi is super fresh and beautifully prepared by the devoted chef, Ito San, and there is a wide choice of traditional Japanese cooked dishes, all equally good. Service is polite and welcoming.
Two of us went there last Friday and had a very good time with delicious food complimented by Sapporo beer and sake. This is Japanese owned and operated and the taste reflects that. The sushi was super fresh and beautifully put together and the other cooked dishes all were very good. As a previous resident of Japan and an frequent traveler there, this place reminds me most of a small Japanese Izakaya. Will be back for more.
As long as you charge for the bag I will take my business somewhere else. I purchased food from 2 of your neighboring restaurant and they don't charge for the bag. Bye bye
Even though it was take out and a 20 minutes drive to get home, the shrimp tempura was still crisp!
The food was delicious. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly.
The food is always exquisitely prepared and presented. Ito San is a true sushi master, and Jose does a wonderful job in the kitchen as well as serving. My family has been going there for nearly 30 years! Shogun is a West Newton gem.
