This is the second time in a month that we ate here. Actually same outside table and wonderful waiter, Jonny. The mushroom tacos were really flavorful...I'm not even a mushroom lover. The halibut with ancient grains (not exactly sure what that is ) was excellent. The steak was reported as very tender. The drinks are generous. Outdoor dining was very comfortable and distanced. We will look forward to returning soon!

Birthday celebration

As always, Farmstead Table was simple, delightful food and easy to order and get comments from the staff - just as good s it was 10 years ago. Bravo!

Farmstead is, as always, an understated delight! Comfortable dining, creative menu, great service.

Great meal. Limited menu but the salad with zucchini soup and popover was perfect for summer lunch. Topped it off with chefs hard lemonade…

The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the vibe was on point.

We went to eat at Farmstead following a friend's recommendation. We very much enjoyed our evening there, sitting at one of the tables outside on the sidewalk in Newton center, enjoying the excellent food. We loved everything we tried, from the fresh popovers, over the seared shishita peppes to the entrees (duck, halibut). Not to forget the delicious desserts!

One entree was very good. The other had gluey over cooked rice and grilled baby bok choy that was very difficult to cut with the table knife. The fish was good, well presented. The ambience in the grape arbor is outstanding.

This place is a mixed bag: food was mostly good except for the bluefish which had excess ponzu sauce on it that bade it very salty. Halibut was good as was the peach salad starter. The salad portion was very small. The service was very slow and inattentive. Ambiance is plain and pleasant.

Overall satisfied. They try hard but the popovers are undercooked inside and oily outside. Halibut was tasty which is difficult to achieve. While limited in selection, beers are interesting.
