I walked in one afternoon after a visit to the post office next door and a quick look into the window of this former pizza place. I noticed how pristine the interior looked. I had to go in. When I entered a nice gentleman greeted me with a friendly hello and said check out our menu and let me know if you have any questions. What a nice welcome ! While the pizzas were pulling at me I decided on ordering a sub. I ordered a Turkey sub and I’m pretty specific on what I like on it. When I said cheese the same nice man asked me if Provolone would be good. I knew this place was a good choice for lunch. The sandwich was perfectly balanced with all I asked for. The Turkey was actually real roasted Turkey not some fabricated mystery meat. . While I waited for my toasted sandwich the engaging man behind the counter conversed with me about the style of pizza they make. It’s South Shore Bar Pie (SSBP) style. That’s pretty sensational here in Newton. I’m a pandemic pizzaiola from the South Shore and make my own pies. I’m obsessed with the process and from time to time make SSBP in 10 inch pans but these guys wisely make them in 14 inch pans. That’s pretty amazing. Why settle for 10s when you can get 14s. This guy is very knowledgeable in the world of pizza. What a great conversation. A revisit for a pizza is on the agenda for next week. But the sub I devoured was also perfection. What an absolute bonus this place is to the Highlands. Yay, I may never make my own lunch again. So many items to try.
We got a cheeseburger sub and a Mac and cheese with steak tips.. absolutely delicious and worth the money. The mozzarella sticks were tasty too! We will definitely be back!
1'd like to give 6 stars! We've had take out three times now - delicious, great service, impeccably clean. The veggie pizza is great, the beet salad is a winner, and the fish and chips are also excellent. A typical fish and chips is heavy on breading, light on fish. Not here, it is good fish, light and crispy. The service is above and beyond. I picked up a take out order and they gave me the wrong pizza by accident. As I got home I got a phone call telling me my pizza was on it's way for home delivery. I tried to tip the delivery guy and he said no-way, this is on us. And enjoy the extra pizza for free. We'll be back there many more times.
4 of us from the Highlands ordered different items last night (some Bowls, a Pizza and a Grilled Cheese sandwich). The quality and taste were a lovely surprise. It's a pretty middle-of-the-road menu encompassing standard Italian and American fare upgraded with some modern treatments, but the execution was outstanding across the board, and less than 20 minutes from online order submission to pickup. We'll be back !
So basic. I ordered a salad which was perfectly fresh and fine. But I ordered it without cheese, and yet....covered in feta. I had hoped that the new version of this place would be better than it was before, but it's about the same.
Their gluten free pizza is the best I have ever had!!! Amazing sauce and a good array of high quality toppings. I wish they had more gluten free options, I have heard the fish and chips are amazing, wish they could do gluten free!
Good service, good atmosphere, good food.
I have visited this new restaurant a handful of times since they opened, I’ve tried several items from their menu….pizza, pasta, burger, & fish and chips. Everything was excellent, extremely flavorful and delicious to eat. Highly recommend this place!!
Eaten here twice with the family. Excellent food! My boys love the burgers, meatball subs, and steak and cheese. Cute little restaurant and service was great!
Really good veg pizza. Crust is fairly thin but still substantive. Sauce tasty
