This is the absolute best restaurant in New Bedford and I am so glad I stumbled on it! The food is incredible and inventive - I have not been so enthusiastic going out to eat in so long until I just tried Union Flats Seafood co! There’s a reason it’s so highly rated by so many people - it truly is the real deal. I will absolutely be back every time I come back to visit family, thank you for opening such an amazing place!!I ordered the green curry calamari and the dirty fish and chips. The green curry calamari- incredible flavors! It has a wonderful warmth to it that is not overpowering and they are so light/fluffy! The dirty fish and chips- I have never been so impressed by fish and chips before! All of the flavors work SO WELL together and are honestly such a delight. The fries even are amazing with the vinegar dust!For those unsure about the cuisine - give it a shot, you will not be disappointed!!! Keep an open mind and the servers/bartenders are all so incredibly nice and helpful, you will not be lead astray!

Absolutely awesome. My new fav place. Finally someone knows how to cook squid and put it in creative dishes. Winter ramen is a must. And the cocktail are top notch.

The new kid on the block shows promise. We arrived for lunch on a cool and cloudy Saturday afternoon. A steady stream of people came in indicating that this newcomer is going to be quite popular in the days to come. The entrance is unassuming and the decor could use a little bit of character development but once you get seated, the inspiration becomes clear. The chef, we were told came from Little Moss one of our favorite south coast restaurants. The other owners created DNB, the famous and well regarded burger joint now located on Purchase Street. We were greeted and served by a very enthusiastic and gregarious, Gwen. She told us what she recommended often revealing her passion for the team. The menu spotlighted creative options. We took her recommendations and ordered the house specials; smelts and PEI mussels. We also ordered a mixed dozen of plump and briny delicious Cape Cod and South Coast oysters. My partner ordered a gin cocktail that came with a lovely dehydrated orange, similar to the one we had at Nobu Barbuda, last week. He loved his cocktail. He also ordered the clean fish and chips.I'm just going to make the review short and sweet. Food is tasty and really really creative. Plating is artful. Food is heavy handed on the salt which I'm not super excited about but hopefully I can modify that next time I go by asking for less salt. They do not have bottles of sparkling water but instead use club soda which is a disappointment as we always dine with a bottle of Pellegrino or similar. The hand cut fries and the fish and chips were the star of the day and of course the oysters. The PEI mussels were delicious with an ambrosial coconut curry sauce.. I'm super excited that they make their desserts in-house and next time I will try the house made Key lime pie.There's lots of little touches that make this place special; beautiful glassware housemaid pickles, gorgeous bar seats and really great music at the right volume. Keep the reggae, please.Prices are fair and again this is going to be a very popular and successful endeavor.
Holy smokes, what a calm reassuring vibe..Towny with a friendly touch.. not too hectic. But modern crowd, elegantly prepared food. Even after scheduled time, i was able to grab a plate of the best scollops ive ever had. By god, by god, ill be back next weekend
The vibe of the restaurant is perfect, something different downtown. Don’t get me started on the food and drinks, every single item was ordered was amazing! Great service , must try!!
Union Flats is so amazing!The food and cocktails are so thoughtfully made! The craftsmanship shows from the minute you walk in the door until you leave.Beautiful experience all around!
An awesome addition to our local food scene! Elevated cocktails designed by talented mixologists. Delicious and balanced. The oysters were beautifully shucked. I had the calamari as my entree and it was a beautiful blend of flavors. It was spicy…which I love but not for my sister lol. She would have called the fire department but she thinks black pepper is spicy. My husband had the smash burger. It was fantastic. The fries were ridiculous. Seriously crazy good.The bar was great. We really like sitting at a bar and these chairs are not just beautiful pieces of art but really cozy. I wish I had taken pics of the interior. It’s very cool.
Best food in NB, hands down. Inventive cuisine with great attention paid to every element of each dish. Can't wait to eat there again!
