Best baked goods in America! Well worth the visit! The sour dough bread was amazing! You know it’s fresh because there are so many workers there during the day churning out fresh goods!
Everything is amazing here. We have never purchased anything we didn’t like. Today I decided to venture out a bit and get the California avo toast. It was the best thing I have eaten in a very long time. It hit all the notes. Highly recommend!
The chef is extraordinarily creative and accomplished - everything is delicious! The breakfast sandwiches and lunch creations have the freshest ingredients and the pizzas offered are excellent. Watch his website for daily offerings and the specialty donuts are always a surprise - always fresh and always creative - go early before some of these delectables sell out!
Excellent pastries for sweet tooth! Croissant pudding, boston cream donuts and puff tart nutella are my favorites!
Delicious pastries! Ordering ahead is definitely better as they are almost always very busy and sell out (because they are that good). Love their holiday special boxes!

My sister and I stopped in today (a couple days before Valentine’s Day) It was very busy but the young man at the front was extremely friendly and helpful. We got an English muffin, a breakfast sandwich, and some cookies. The English muffin and breakfast sandwich were outstanding!! We’re so excited to try the cookies later. We have no idea why we waited so long to visit here. We highly recommend!!
I had a very poor experience at The Baker, NB. I received the wrong order and had taken a bite out of one of the donuts before I realized it was not the right one. I went back in and told them. The manager himself took the donuts out and tried to put them back on the shelf with the donuts to sell. I had to point out that I had actually bitten one of the ones he put on the shelf. I was told they didn’t have my donuts and that they “probably would” tomorrow and was told to come back the next day. Instead, I requested a refund. My order was not refunded when I was told it would be. I had to call 3 times to finally receive my “partial” refund for their error on my order. I finally received it 3 weeks later. Very disappointing first impression and I will not be back! I gave 2 stars because I do believe the donuts that I had initially ordered would have been good!
I’ve been going to The Baker since I moved to New Bedford in 2019. It’s one of my favorite places to pick up a treat for me and my husband. I’ve never had a bad experience there. All the staff are kind and some even know me by name (even when I’m wearing a mask)! I always look forward to seeing what they have because the staff and owner always create delicious food. It’s a shame that there are people who are so used to fast food turnaround that they can’t wait more than 15 minutes for food that is always made in-house and made to order. More for everyone else who has come to love and appreciate the hard work of the people who have built up this amazing European bakery then ??♀️❤️ Also attaching photos of some of the goodies that we’ve had the chance to try and share with our loved ones who absolutely enjoyed each treat over the last couple of years. ?
I can’t recommend The Baker enough. Every single week I look forward to Wednesday - Sunday. I will find any excuse to end up there. The Avocado Toast? Best around. Breakfast sandwiches? I have never had one like theirs. Pastries? Perfection. The Chicken Pot Pie? Amazing. Don’t even get me started on the Honey Peach Mango Iced Tea ? Every time I have walked into The Baker I am greeted like I’m a long time friend - you don’t find customer service like that at many places, especially around here. They produce quality food every single time. I have never left there disappointed! I’m only disappointed when I didn’t buy extras ? If you want quality, this is your go to. I’d rather wait 25 minutes for a quality egg sandwich made with love than get something thrown together at another establishment that is basically the same price and produces, well, not so great food. Don’t let The few bad reviews get to you! (Easier said than done, I know!) You know what you bring to the table, and some people just like to complain for the sake of complaining. Keep being perfect and I’ll see you tomorrow! ?
