Food, drinks & atmosphere were all great! Will be going back soon to try their house-infused vodka Bloody Mary!!
Very good food great service
Delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly Recommend! I had the lobster roll, It was fresh and full of lobster, SO GOOD. My husband had the fish fry and thoroughly enjoyed it. We found this hidden gem on trip advisor and are happy we did.. We travel around New England frequently and always like to try local places. Some are hit or miss, some are a win. I definitely recommend this place as a win.
This kitchen is HIGHLY underrated. Lobster bisque was thinner than I'm used to but full of flavor, stuffed scallops were AMAZING, calamari is great, and the fish and chips has this incredible almond and cornflake batter that is so crunchy and delish. Definitely worth a stop, I'm sure we didn't try everything that's worth it on the menu! You won't regret it! Also, if you like smokey flavor, the Bloody Mermaid is a great rendition of a bloody Mary, but I will say we nearly forgot about the drinks and were totally silent while eating because the food was that good!
Fish and chips are spot on!
We had the pulled pork quesadilla (the bbq sauce was perfect); the angus burger (as good as a famous TV chef’s burger “castle”); the chicken sandwich (very good); and (ta-dah!) the lobster sandwich-perfect - fresh, full, and absolutely wonderful. Thank you chef! And the service was friendly and attentive.
Busy night, so service was a bit slow. Drinks hit the spot and the staff was friendly. We had scallop tacos which were five stars, but the half pound lobster roll ($50) was served refrigerator cold. I wish they would have said it was served that way. I definitely would have tried something else. I’ve never had a cold lobster roll. They were always served fresh. But not this time. :(
Staff is fantastic!! The young lady tending the bar, was extremely knowledgeable, polite, outgoing, and understanding.. She's a keeper! Hope to be there for your whiskey dinner! Keep up the great management!! It shows!
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food - what more could you ask for? We shared the large lobster roll with fries and though expensive ($69 for 3/4 lb) it was absolutely delicious. The roll was packed with big chunks of lobster meat. Not overdressed and served with delicious crisp fries and hot butter! Would definitely recommend.
I was in New Bedford on business, and I had a few hours to unwind before the end of my day. I took a stroll around the waterfront of this quaint New England city and found the Whaler's Tavern. The ambiance was delightful, the food and drink were delicious, and the locals here were friendly. I would really like to come back during the peak tourism season and experience more of this city. Fun fact: In the 1840s, New Bedford was considered one of the wealthiest cities in the world
