Oh, well... that was an unpleasant experience. This is the first time I have dined at Freestone's in some time, probably around two years. For starters, the menu has been "revamped". In other words, it's been slashed and is now one page. Favorites like the fondu and New Orleans meatloaf are gone, pasta entrees no longer come with garlic bread, and overall, we found the food bland. However, my biggest issue was the service. Our waitress came across as though she couldn't be bothered with our order. First, I attempted to order fried pickles and was abruptly notifed they were out for the night. Turns out, there were three items out that night. This is a minor complaint, but in my experience, waitstaff usually give the customer a warning of items that are out of stock before coming to take your order. After taking our order, other staff brought the food and our designated waitress never returned to check on us. However, she had plenty of time to talk to the table immediately behind us (who were friends of her), despite this not being her table. Finally, after sitting for some time, and someone else clearing the table, she asked if we needed anything else or if we woud like the check. I asked for the check. She again turned to the table behind us and began chatting with them for an extended period. She then went outside for a cigarette with her friends from the table. I saw this with my own eyes (I was seated by the large front window and could see them at the entrance). After waiting... and waiting... and waiting... I finally asked the manager if he would give us our check, and to his credit, did so very quickly. When I told him which table I was at, other waitstaff seemed to imply it was no shock I was still waiting. After receiving my check, the waitress still didn't return, and in fact, a young woman who was running Bingo that night offered to take it for me. That was easily among the worst service I have ever experienced.

Food wasn't good and pricey. It's gone downhill Saif to say .

The new renovations brought a much needed refresh to this downtown establishment, but I was sad to see Darwin wasn't hanging over the bar :(The food was rather underwhelming. They didn't have rice, an odd thing for a restaurant to not have available. They didn't have sautéed spinach available, and they didn't have the ingredients to make some of their signature martinis.I hope these shortcomings are re-opening jitters and not indicative of their capacity. With the all the restaurant options in downtown, it kind of feels like Freestones isn't keeping up. Maybe their established customers like it that way, but it is going to be tough to attract new customers with old dishes lacking a modern flair.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Our server Rebecca was fantastic, knew the menu, got every order correct and was extremely personable.

Just average food. Every time I go I am hopeful for better but it never happens. Ambiance is good

Would love to review this place if they answered the damn phone. Tried calling several times yesterday and several times again today to place an order. Each time I let the phone ring at least a dozen times. They are active on FB so if they were having phone issues one would think they would post it there. Not a good look when a business can't answer their phones.

We went for lunch on a Friday. Place was not busy. Got seated immediately. Cool little restaurant downtown with interesting ambiance. Drinks are great! I recommend the compassion martini. Best part was the food. Fresh fresh fresh. And the waitstaff was so attentive. She was super friendly and careful about my food allergy.

I cannot review the food here as we left before even being waited on. Immediately upon entering, I was unimpressed. It smelled like a musty basement mixed with dirty old laundry. The smell was very overpowering, but the reviews said it was a great place, so we decided to stay. We waited several minutes and were never even greeted. Eventually the bartender came over to the hostess table and asked us where we would like to sit. I asked for a booth and the bartender said okay and then told us to sit by the window, which was a table with a broken chair. That’s when we left. Very unacceptable. Go across the street to literally anywhere else

Beautiful atmosphere, reminiscent of an old fashioned firehouse inside. Food is generally very good.

August 2021. Great dinner at this sweet find of a restaurant. Beautiful building. We ended up here by accident. So glad we did. The French onion soup was the best I've had. Salmon, brocoli and salads were great. Service quick and friendly. We can't wait to come back! Thank you!
