This place is the real deal. It rivals the best donuts you can get in The Boston Area…Kane’s Black Bird, Union Square…you get the picture. Heck, I’d even put them up against the famous VooDoo Donuts in Oregon. I had the cream brûlée. It was crunchy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. Not too sweet. Wife had the blueberry pie which she thoroughly enjoyed. Worth the one hour round trip for me. I suggest making the trip from anywhere!
Ok so my family loves donut shops and we were so excited to hear about this one opening so close by! To date our favorite donut shop has been Allies Donuts in North Kingstown RI. They have the classic favorites such as maple frosted, cream filled and jelly. I set my alarm this Saturday morning to arrive at Basic promptly at 7am, was greeted by lovely staff and impressed by a gorgeous counter full of donuts! I proceeded to buy a dozen of donuts that totaled about $41 and headed home to surprise the family. Unfortunately we were overall disappointed. The maple bacon (one of my favorites) was quite thick and lacked in flavor. My son’s favorite is the old reliable chocolate dipped, and he ate less then half and threw the rest away. My daughter enjoyed the Boston cream, which I understood to be a “special” and not offered regularly and the rest honestly looked better then they tasted in comparison to ALLIES. Maybe it was because we had set our bar so high and had we not had Allies, would’ve loved Basic Batch, but that unfortunately was not the case. Not to mention the drastic price difference per dozen. I believe we are upto $16 per dozen at Allies although we haven’t been since summer so not sure if it has changed. I loved the owners story of their journey and wish them much success but highly suggest they take a ride to Allies to see what we mean. I have no idea what makes Allies so delicious but maybe these owners will!!

Stopped by to grab a dozen donuts as a thank you gift and BOY were we impressed! Handcrafted donuts with monthly and seasonal flavors, they sell out pretty quick so get here early! We got Chocolate Glazed with Sprinkles, Honey Glazed, Maple Bacon, Watermelon Jolly Rancher, Cherry Pie, and Fruity Pebbles. Highly recommend this place, the donuts were so soft and delicious. Each one having its own unique tastiness! Getting here extra early next time to try to get our hands on their Mocha Cold Brew Donut❣️
We love visiting basic batch at least once a month to grab a cin roll or try the monthly specials. January is Tiramisu and it was the best donut I’ve ever had.
Their donuts are absolutely delicious! It's hard to go wrong here. The monthly specials are super fun, but they also make an excellent glazed donut and fantastic apple fritters. I love stopping by because the employees seem to genuinely care about their customers, and my dogs love it because they know that they're getting a treat, too! Basic Batch is also great at communicating their hours, specials, what's left, etc. on social media - it's so easy to know when they are open and what's available!
I LOVE this place! I drive 45 minutes each way at least once a month to try their specials… sometimes twice a month. Donuts are delicious and staff is always friendly! Definitely courageous opening a new business during the pandemic but I’m so glad they did!
One of the best donuts I have found in New England. It’s an event in the house when we go grab some. They keep everyone up to date on social media about sellouts etc. I’m glad to have a local business that produces an amazing product and treats employees right! Now go get some donuts!
This place is awesome. Not the cheapest donut you can find but worthy of the splurge. Possibly the best glazed donut I’ve ever had. And their social media is so well organized and clearly communicates when they are closed or run out of donuts! Follow them!
