Sensational Paella was the food provider for a dual 60th birthday party I was DJing at a residential home in Wayland, MA. Right away I was captivated by the delicious smells and aroma while they were cooking. And after eating a meal I can certainly say it was sensational. In addition all of the staff were extremely kind and friendly. I highly recommend them.
Julian and his team catered our wedding and I could not be happier! The food was delicious all around- from the unbelievable work of art that was the charcuterie spread to the star of the show paella itself. Do yourself a favor and book them for your wedding or other event if you're looking for something totally unique and unforgettable!
Julian and his team from Sensational Paella were absolutely incredible! He was helpful and communicative from the moment I first met him, and a charming rock star chef on our special day. The charcuterie spread was bountiful and gorgeous, a work of art, and the hottest topic of the night. It was a perfect feature for our garden wedding. The paella was among the best I've ever had, even in Spain. Julian and his staff were warm and welcoming to everyone, had a smile on their faces the entire night, despite being a cold and windy day and having much difficulty with getting the grills to stay on. We hired Julian and his team for our wedding in Maine this past summer. WOW! I cannot recommend sensational paella enough.We went for a tasting at his house and were blown away by the food. We did the charcuterie board spread for cocktail hour and WOAH it was unbelievable, it was all anyone could talk about! Everything on the board was tasty and the presentation was magazine worthy. We went with a variety of paella (seafood, vegan, meat, mixta) for dinner and everyone loved it! service was flawless, everyone enjoyed a warm,filling meal! All our guests were raving about how unique and delicious it was, I got a lot of "best meal I've had at a wedding!".Leading up to our wedding Julian was SO helpful, he is very detailed oriented and organized. We were a COVID postponement and he was understanding and flexible to make the logistics of changing the date all work. He is really positive and just a wonderful person to work with.
My wife hired chef Julian and his team to cater my 50th birthday party and as you can see from the photos, they did an amazing job. I can highly recommend them for any event where you want your guests to leave raving about the food you served.
We hired Sensational Paella to cater our rehearsal dinner in September 2021 Working with Chef Julian Borrero and his team was extremely easy, he helped us guiding our order and sorting out the logistical details in one afternoon and they showed up and ran a flawless operation the day of.The 3 paellas they made; Seafood Paella, Paella Campesina (Country Style Meat Paella), and Vegetarian Paella, were an absolute hit in every way. Not only did they taste amazing but they looked beautiful and many of our guests spent time watching the chefs at work (their stand was like a show!).If we are host another big event, we will be calling Sensational Paella.
Julian and Sensational Paella are the best. My wife and I got them to cater our wedding in the summer of 2019. We got four different paellas plus appetizers--the food was amazing--friends still talk to us about how great it was, plus watching Julian and his crew cook was fun for everybody. For how great the food was the per-person cost was still a little less than if we had gone with a traditional wedding caterer.In the months before our wedding Julian was super-responsive and incredibly helpful. We didn't hire a wedding planner until a month before our wedding, and during the time when we were going solo Julian very patiently walked us through everything that we needed to do--lots of good advice even though that wasn't really his job.My wife and I constantly joke around about finding an excuse to through another party just so we can hire Julian again. Can't recommend highly enough.

We received comment after comment about how delicious the food was, how beautifully it was presented, and how unique the paella was. Julian was super fun and easy to work with and his staff were extremely professional. Our only regret is that we wish we had more time to enjoy the paella prep from start to finish on our wedding day because it is so impressive! I can't say enough great things about Sensational Paella. From the start we knew we wanted our food to be different than the typical plated wedding meal. I work in the food industry, so it was really important to me that we WOW our 150+ guests with something truly special. When I stumbled across Sensational Paella, I knew we had found exactly that--something truly special. Julian, his wife, and the entire crew treated us like family from start to finish. They always seemed genuinely excited to be working with us, and truly committed to providing a great experience for our guests. On the day of, they did such a phenomenal job of getting everything set up and sticking to our timeline, and I've never seen a faster and more efficient event breakdown -- the hall looked pristine not even 20 minutes after all the guests left. Then, of course there was the food. FREAKING AMAZING. Our guests couldn't stop telling us how amazing the paella was; so many people told us it was the best food they ever had at a wedding, which meant the world to us. There was more than enough paella for all our guests to have as much as they wanted AND for us to still take home three big tray fulls of paella. We opted for four different paellas on our buffet: the paella mixta (meat and seafood), seafood paella, meat paella, and veg paella--which was an awesome selection that naturally catered to guests with food restrictions or allergies without compromising on a great meal. The whole team at Sensational Paella went above and beyond for us, making sure we got a sample of the charcuterie platter all to ourselves, and bringing us plates of food right at the beginning of dinner. They even brought in and stacked all the chairs from our outdoor ceremony during dinner, which was really kind and saved us so much time at the end of the night. I couldn't recommend Sensational Paella more. If you want something unique that will really wow your guests, you cannot possibly go wrong with Julian and his team. Great people and great food.
