Degs Cakes made my wedding cake for 7.2.2022 and not only was it beautiful, but it was so delicious ?, all my guests had nothing but compliments about it. There was nothing left except the top tier we are saving for our one year anniversary ❤ The cake was worth the price!!
I had the best and the most beautiful wedding cake and desserts ever. Degs was super nice to work with. My wedding cake was a dream cake. I can’t thank you enough for all your professionalism and for designing such an amazing wedding cake. I totally recommend Degs for all my family and friends. Thank you Degs for making my dream come true.
Wonderful, fantastic cakes/pastries. Such a variety and great prices.. Best pastry around, lived here for over 40 years and none compare to Deg's Cakes. Also, the bad review form Rebec. anyone that takes that much time to write a poor review after stating that her cakes are wonderful, needs to go somewhere else ! Really!Dr.Ed C
Best cake we ever had!! Great place to buy a treat to employees and customers. They all loved Deg’s Cakes. Tasting cakes and the best hot chocolate. Well located and great parking lot. Catering orders were perfect.
Best bakery in town! Truly amazing family and business that’s willing to go above and beyond for their customers to give them the best experience possible. From the dessert to the packaging to the service, you can’t beat Deg’s Cakes!
My family and I have made the 2+hour (round trip ) drive from Peabody to Marlboro several times because it’s quality deserts, I’ll never dispute that. We never had any problems until October of 2021, when we went to Deg’s to see the owner and attempt to hire her to make our wedding cake, which was scheduled for December 30th, 2021. The owner agreed to make our cake and advised us that we should take samples home to test. We agreed and paid roughly $80 on samples. She provided us with her contact info so we could send her the details of the cake, design, desired flavor, etc.Shortly after (still October) we reached out confirming the details. To our surprise she replied saying that she couldn't do the cake because she had a trip scheduled around that time. This was a bit confusing because we had just recently conducted business in person and she never mentioned anything of the sort. If we would have known beforehand, that she wasn’t going to be 100% on board, we wouldn't have wasted time or spent the money on so many cakes. However, despite being frustrated, we didn’t think much of it and found another bakery.Unfortunately, our wedding was postponed due to COVID, and was rescheduled to April 21st, 2022, which is a Thursday similar to the original wedding date. With this change in date, we were hopeful of an opportunity to actually have Deg’s make our cake. We reached out to the owner again hoping this time she’d be able to work with us. Just as soon as we messaged her she said she couldn't do it because her schedule was full. We thought it was weird because it's a Thursday and most weddings are on weekends but again we shook it off.In the following days she started posting wedding cake pictures on Instagram advertising that it was wedding season and people could start placing orders for the year 2022. Again, this was confusing because she indicated that her schedule was quite busy. We then reached out and offered to pay her an extra $300 dollars on top of the value. She told us that it wasn't about the money but rather she was actually very busy. My mother-in-law, knowing how much We like her cakes and deserts sent her a message on Instagram asking if she could make a wedding cake for a wedding on April 21st, 2022, and she told my mother-in-law that she could! She made arrangements with my mother-in-law for the price and the delivery and indicated that the total would be $820 for a cake for 100 people. When my mother-in-law sent the photo of the cake, she explained that she wanted to surprise us. The owner said that she remembered us and that she actually couldn't make the cake because it was Easter week and she was very busy. My mother-in-law explained to her that Easter is the Sunday before. The owner replied that it's actually because Thursday’s are hard for her. In the end we were going to pay over $800 for a cake for 100 people from a business owner who obviously doesn't value their customers. We perceive her behavior as very dishonest, misleading and in a way cunning (because we purchased the samples at her instruction because she accepted the job). As a result of this experience, we will never go back to Deg’s again. We sincerely don't understand why she would tell one person that she could not make the cake on that particulate date, and tell another that she could. It’s simply not good business to agree to a job then reject it. It is also not good business to agree to a job by means of being selective of your customers, particularly when there have never been any issues between us. We don’t believe this behavior is an isolated incident, and hope that our review is received well by others who may have received terrible service as well.
Deg is the best! She’s always been so attentive and professional every time we’ve been to the store! Employees are friendly and desserts are delicious. I strongly recommend to anyone with a sweet tooth!
I've made the hour-plus journey from Peabody to Marlboro several times because I love the cakes and other sweets I found at Deg's Cake. I never had any problems until in October I went to the store to see if she could make my wedding cake for December 30th. She said yes and instructs me to buy the flavors I wanted to sample from the cakes in the window. She gave me her card with the phone number so I could send her my details and show her what kind of cake I wanted. I spent $80 that day at the store, and then I texted her with a photo of the cake and other details. She replied saying that she couldn't do the cake because she had a trip scheduled. I was a little confused because she could have told me at the store when I asked her. I wouldn't have spent the money on so many cakes. But I shrugged it off and didn’t take it personally. My wedding had to be postponed because of COVID and we changed it to April 21st, which is a Thursday. So I decided to try asking her again because now maybe she would be able to make the cake! I texted her again, as soon as I texted her she said she couldn't do it because her schedule was full. I thought it was weird because it's a Thursday and most weddings are on weekends but whatever. In the following days she started posting wedding cake pictures on Instagram saying that it was wedding season and people could start placing orders for the year 2022. I didn't understand again why she couldn't make the cake for me. I even offered to pay her an extra 300 dollars on top of the value. She said it wasn't for the money but because she was actually very busy. My mom knowing how much I like her cake sent her a message on Instagram asking if she could make a wedding cake for a Thursday April 21st, and she said yes! She made arrangements with my mother for the price and the delivery because we live far away. The total would be 820 dollars for a cake for 100 people. When my mother sent the photo of the cake I wanted and says she wanted to surprise me, she said that she remembered me and that she couldn't. Because it was Easter week and she was very busy. My mother tells her that Easter is the Sunday before. She replied that it's actually because its on Thursday so it's hard for her. In the end we were going to pay over 800 dollars for a cake for 100 people for someone who obviously doesn't value their customers. I found her behavior very sad and I will never go back to the store again. I still don't understand why she didn't want to make my wedding cake when she could have. She says yes and took the job when She thought it was another client but when she found out it was for me she didn't want to. I've never done anything to her and I don't understand why she felt it necessary to behave this way. The cake may be good, but Deg's behavior leaves something to be desired. Customer service is awful.
