Good is delicious but prices are high
Interesting menu with ample options. Prices good. Ambience lacked a little but was ok. Food was good. I probably did not order the right thing and wound up a little disappointed. And that is the reason why I gave it only 3 stars. The server was lacking personality and wasn’t able to help us navigate the vast menu or offer suggestions on our order. Even though we asked.
Took my father here in my roommates recommendation and found it enjoyable. It was a little busy, but the dumplings were tasty. Cheesecake was pretty standard and I'm not big on coffee ice cream that came with it. Admittedly, my second choice of dessert. My first choice, a mango something, was out.
The hospitality leaves a lot to be desired- we arrived at 4:45 on a wet and cold afternoon- despite there being 4 empty booths we were told these are only given to larger groups - and we could only sit at the bar- the bar chairs were wobbly and did not feel very comfortable— we are both taller than 6’4” and find bar seating tough at the best of times. We arrived hungry and ready to order up big- but decided to walk out without ordering as it was just too uncomfortable- it’s a pity they don’t know how to read a customers needs and cling to a seating policy that is inspired by greed.
Hearing a lot about District Kitchen, thought we’d try it. Typical modern decor for a fusion restaurant with very loud “club-like music.” Music was good but much too loud for dining. You literally have to scream your order and talk to each other at the table. Lighting was bad, had to use the flashlight on our mobile phones to see and read the menus and to go through 3 different separate menus. The service was lacking considering the restaurant wasn’t full. Most of the help was hanging around the entry way chatting. Ordered drinks and received 2 out of the 3 drinks after waiting more than 15 minutes. Then had to ask for the third drink (soda) after 25 minutes then received 2 separate glasses of soda in 2 different sizes. When we told the waitress who brought the 2nd glass that we got it, she had a disgusted attitude. The gimmick for this Asian fusion establishment was the XXLarge soup dumpling. That’s just it. A gimmick. Dumpling itself was tough to eat, thick, tough and doughy. Soup inside was salty and scarce in the stuffing of pork and shrimp. Tried it and a disappointment for $12 a pop. Then there’s the crispy sea bass. We ordered the sea bass with black bean sauce. The sea bass itself was small, not enough black bean sauce and not worth the $38 price tag. The salt and pepper calamari was bland. However, the sizzling beef in black pepper sauce with homemade noodles, braised pork belly and beef skewers appetizer were excellent. Then we asked for the dessert menu. Decent dessert menu but then what we wanted, they did not have which was 2 out of the 5 dessert items offered that the waitress failed to mention when she gave us the menu. Settled for the slice of chocolate fudge cake which was partly frozen and a little dry. Not returning to this restaurant!
great customer service. pretty busy place, very neat and well decorated. all the dishes we got were pretty good, especially the mala mama dumplings, very juicy and well seasoned.
Finding parking was a bit tricky but very nice experience here. We had a reservation and seated promptly. Server was friendly but didn't check on us many times throughout the night. We got a mocktail (mint berry lime) and an espresso martini. We started with scallion pancakes. Wanted to try the pork dumplings and the XXL dumpling. Our main dishes were general Gao chicken and beef brisket noodles. Would definitely recommend the general Gao chicken and pork dumplings!!
fresh tasting ,really good!!
Slow service but great food. Don't order pork chop in Iron pot, doesnot taste good. Don't order crunchy chicken in shezuan style. Do order BBQ pork skewer, best one out here.
Nice and cosy place. Servers are sweet. Most of the item in the menu is good. We tried crispy honey shrimp dim sum, juicy pork dim sum, pork noodles, egg fried rice. Cocktails are good too. Good serving quantity.
