I used to live in NYC and always went to Chinatown for my Pork Buns. With numerous relocations in my life I could never find Pork Buns ANYWHERE! When I relocated to MA (not too far from Boston) I assumed that the Boston Chinatown might be a place to explore and finally find an authentic Asian Bakery. Traffic and parking was a big consideration. I googled "Pork Buns" and was surprised to find the LOWELL ASIAN BAKERY, which was much closer to where I live. The menu online was unbelievably long with options showing it was much more than just a bakery. When I got there I couldn't stop smiling. Before even entering the aroma drew me inside where, to my surprise, were shelves of pastries, cakes, buns, etc. Also, a kitchen where they prepared food (take out/eat in) for customers. I was handed a large bowl and explored the varieties (individually wrapped), picking and choosing my Pork Buns, as well as a few I had to try. I also ordered the House Lo Mien (extra spicy, please). After paying for my purchases I vowed to return. My ride home was a tortuous pleasure since the aroma of my Lo Mien made my mouth water. Finally, got home and tore into it.W O W❕I found myself very satisfied and, as Arnold said in the movies,....."I'LL BE BACK"!!!??

I got the Beef lok lak and my partner got the C21 combination plate. My partner thought his food was alright. I thought my food was great. I was a little sad that it didnt come with rice, but the food I was given was a huge portion, and everything tasted great. I also grabbed many of the pastries. I tried the fried dough pastry (plainly sweet but good), coco-bread cream pastry (very good), and the custard bun (custard was good but the inside of the bun was dry). Mind you, I grabbed these around 9:15pm so im not complaining. What I actually came there for were the pork buns and was surprised to find chicken teriyaki buns too. Im too full so I'll be trying those later :) im glad i dont have to drive in to Boston for these buns. ?? they were a bit pricier than Boston, but worth the short 20 minute drive.

The Beef Pho was really good. Broth had so much flavor. And I got a few Asian bakery buns to go as well. And they still have the China Star Chinese menu as well.

AAAA++++ Delivery driver was phenomenal! Went through a long 2ft+ of unshoveled snow driveway just to hand me my food!Best customer service EVER!!! Plus, the food was still hot and delicious! Forget WahSang restaurant!

What ever they sprayed in the pans or wok you can taste the chemicals/soap. never mind the fact I almost chipped a tooth on what ever was in the rice. Maybe Monday's are not their days to oder?

Best bakery in Lowell

This is better than Empire Hunan. Go China Star

The food was fresh and delicious. I thought it was the old China star that’s why I never bothered to order. The food is not too oily either

Great quality food and you get a good amount great spot.

Best pork belly ever. Their food is not salty either. We ordered peapod stem stir fry, lobster sauce, and pork belly. All dishes were delicious. They are better than China star and i hope people don’t associate this place with the old China star that used to be there on Broadway.
