The food was great from the tamales to the flan. We sat at the bar and our bartender Jose was terrific.
Great food. amazing drinks!
The place itself is not large, but during the summer outdoor sitting is available. Drinks and food are pretty good. Their house-made hot sauce is amazing.
Exceptional food, big servings (like one serving feed two), and addicting flavors, what else can you ask for, oh yeah and super friendly staff. We had such a good time, drinks are also great, margaritas were to died for. We loved it, and we will be coming back soon for more.
Azul is first class Mexican food. We ordered take out and were pleasantly surprised how delicious it was.I should've know it was good by how busy they were at 4:45pm on a Friday, not a seat in the house so we ordered food to go. Everything was good can't wait to go back.
The food was amazing, the cocktail was spot on, the service was fast and friendly, the restaurant was clean and well-kept…the whole experience was excellent! Highly recommend as someone who grew up eating authentic Mexican food!
First time there, few hiccups, apparently almost everything is cooked with peppers. Husband can't eat them, we ordered a chimi no peppers. It came with small pieces in it. They did correct it and helped him order something he could eat. Wish they had a complete tequila menu, lots of choices but not on the menu. We will definitely give it another try!! Staff was very happy and helpful!!
Waitstaff - Nothing bad to say here. Very friendly and attentive.Appetizers - Very good. All appetizers came out very promptly. Free tortilla chips (they came out hot), and, a pretty standard but delicious, salsa roja. We also ordered guacamole, which was among the best I've had in a restaurant. It was a thick guacamole with red onion and tomato, and very well seasoned with plenty of brightness from lime juice. We also ordered calamari which was topped with fried jalapenos, chipotle mayo, and pickled red onion. I quite liked it like this, but you might want to ask for these on the side if you're sharing with anyone who has a more selective palette. The wait for our entrees was a bit long. We were informed (well ahead of the majority of our wait) that there were only two employees working in the kitchen. I don't want to be too presumptive, but from my perspective as a customer it seemed as if the ratio of waitstaff to kitchen workers was a bit out of whack.Entrees - I got the Enchiladas Mole Poblano, as well as the Tamales to share with my brother. I noticed on the first bite that, although my plate was very hot, the filling in my enchiladas was just a tad cold. These were overall just okay. Not the best mole poblano I've had. They were topped with pickled red onion and queso fresco which I liked. The side of refried beans, served in a tostada bowl, and topped with queso fresco, were some of the best refried beans I've ever had. I think it's a great way to serve them, too.For the tamales, I would say they were just okay as well. They come as a pair, one chicken, and one poblano and cheese, topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, and queso fresco. The chicken one was fairly flavorful, however, the poblano and cheese one was bland. I really couldn't taste anything other than corn when I tried it sans toppings.Overall Experience - I believe Azul has a lot of potential. I think some small tweaks to some of the food, and having a full kitchen staff to expedite orders could make it really great. I would recommend giving it a try.
We loved EVERYTHING about this place when it opened during the first year. We raved about it. Stag is great, drinks are the BEST !! The food was outstanding too, then it started to be not so good, we had experiences with being Ill, on more than one occasion after eating there. Nothing severe, but my wife and friends we brought here, and then myself and son on another occasion. then the last occasion was us and our neighbors, where there definitely Illness after eating. The kitchen seemed overwhelmed, and food wasn’t like it had started out, ingredients were missing off the final plates, and was just not as fresh tasting as it had in its beginning. We will probably continue to go here for drinks during summer months, but will stay away from the food. Which is gravely unfortunate, as this place is THE MOST authentic style home cooked Mexican food anywhere.
Everything was excellent, fresh and service was top notch
