One of the Top restaurants on the east coast and in New England absolutely in the top 20. You must try it throughout the summer season as the menu changes but the staff and execution is world class.
We made an error on our reservation and they were the most accommodating, kind, and welcoming staff. We were able to have a great dinner, enjoy the delicious food, and their incredibly friendly staff. Thank you again, Talise
I really wanted to love Talise….but I didn’t. A dinner for 4 people = $552!!!! The tuna tartare was amazing. The oysters were very good. The seafood pasta was ok, very salty…I’m still recovering. And the desserts were a major disappointment. You need to ask for bread, it will not be brought to the table otherwise. And it’s in a random part of Gloucester, not Manhattan. Sorry Talise, we won’t be back.
We live in the neighborhood. This superb location on Lobster Cove has had many restaurants, most didn't make it. Then another neighbor's daughter and her husband took over. They were trained as professional chefs in school and at a top San Francisco restaurant. And the result is like magic. I have been to restaurants around the world, with many having a 5 star Michelin rating. None were any better than Talise. While I believe that the original owners have moved on, their trained staff have taken over and continue the same quality food and service. The results are consistently excellent. Just make sure you come with an appetite, and savor every morsel, from appetizer to desert. You will not be disappointed.
This restaurant is seasonal, so you have only a short window of time to enjoy it (summer through early October). It is on the Annisquam river and the view is amazing. It's a smaller place, but has a back deck. It is hugely popular so reservations are wise. Bar seats are on a first come, first seated basis and are highly coveted. But, you can have a glass of wine or a beer while you're waiting for one and stand out on the gorgeous deck. Beer and wine only, no full bar. The food is great. We had appetizers, entrees and desserts and each dish was well prepared and thoroughly enjoyed. The menu changes daily and they get most of their ingredients locally. Parking can be tricky, along the lines of 'If it fits I parks'. Navigating Annisquam roads in the dark was a little hard, but we found it pretty quickly. We went just after the summer season ended and it still was very busy. It is rightfully a popular place and we plan on coming back.
I love that this menu is always changing. I never get disappointed. The food is always excellent and the view is exceptional.
I took my wife here for her birthday and we were both super impressed! We split a scallops entree and two delicious fancy (in the best way) salads. You can tell everything on the menu is going to be amazing. Our waitstaff were all very friendly and attentive and the location can’t be beat! We’ll definitely be back.
Last night was my third time having dinner Talise and I am consistently delighted with the quality, freshness, and flavors of their ever-changing farm-to -table menu. Charming, tastefully decorated spot on the water with great views from any seat and friendly staff…highly recommend!!

farm to table, different menu each night. Homemade pasta dish is always a crowd pleaser but there’s seldom a disappointing dish. Fantastic, kind(and beautiful frankly)waitstaff. GO HERE IF YOU CAN!
