I love the lobster roll and haddock chowder! The lobster roll has no fillers- just lobster with a bit of Mayo to hold it together and salt and pepper. The haddock chowder is FULL of flaky fish with a little onion and potato and enough spices to just bring out the flavor. The broth is creamy, but not at all heavy. Not as thick as clam chowder traditionally, but perfect for fish chowder. The fried fish platters are generous and fresh.

Lobster was good but not buttered drenched as advertised. Haddock was perfectly fried, not to great and the meat came soft flaky texture. Fries were great.Decir was like any other café style, nothing fancy but good food at reasonable price.Attentive staff
Our go to restaurant. Great daily specials. Best chicken fingers on the North Shore.Restaurant is always clean and the staff are super nice!
We usually go to Jeff’s in Gloucester for their lobster salad roll which is incredible and about $15. We got there at 2:40 and it closes at 2 on Saturday so one of the locals said “Go to Charley’s.”. My wife ordered 3 lobster rolls and the bill was $96 before tip. We got three small lobster rolls in hot dog buns and you could almost squeeze the water out of the lobster.Never again. Totally disgusted. Their other seafood may be ok from what I’ve heard but I’ll never ever go back for a lobster roll. I felt like someone had written”TOURIST” on my forehead with a Sharpie.
Horrible absolutely horrible !! Waitress had a horrible attitude problem. Got crab cake benidict had 2 hairs in in when waitress took it back to remake it you could hear the staff talking bad ! Didn’t even remake it scraped the crab off the bread and put it back on it was cold ! Not even a half hour after I ate had to find a bathroom immediately ! Do not recommend !!
Breakfast ending at 11:45 on a sunday is tough... we arrived at 11:44 and had to get lunch instead.The tuna melt was AWESOME, the Charlie's burger was good, fries were good too but we would have loved to have a nice sunday brunch.
I absolutely love this place. It small, cozy and incredibly nice staff. The food pricing is just perfect and the quality is top tier. Love to go on my lunch breaks time to time.
