I've heard great things about Uncle Cheung' and wanted to give it a try. Worst decision ever. First impression after going in, there aren't any servers. We waited a couple minutes until the lady noticed us and asked us to wait. Most of the tables were not cleaned and she asked us to scan the menu and write down what we wanted to order and hand it back to her. Yeah expect to do some research if you don't know what you are ordering because no one will be explaining it to you.Food was really below average. The stir fry noodles we ordered were hard/undercooked and almost cold. Soup was warm. Soursweet Spareribs had a weird taste and the pork kidney had like 5 big pieces with tons of veggies covered. The portions look normal but the actual meat was so so minimal that honestly it's not even worth going again. The server was the same lady but she didn't ask us if we wanted anything else however they will automatically charge you 18-20% service fee when you didn't get any service lol.
I am currently eating general tsos chicken from a different restaurant and was thinking, man this still isn't as good as the last one I got from uncle cheungs. Then I thought, oh yes! I forgot to write a review. I have a mostly basic American pallette and I got a typical order of general tso chicken, or maybe it is gao, I can hardly tell the difference between the 2, but it was PHENOMENAL. Often times you get this classic chicken and rice dish from an Asian restaurant and the chicken on the inside is hard and the breading is too thick or rubbery, seeming like a pre frozen kind of deal. But the chicken I got from uncle cheungs was excellent. Big pieces of juicy chicken perfectly breaded and fried and the sauce was great too. Service is friendly. I highly recommend. Ps I think I lost the pic of the chicken but here's the Rangoon's and nice strong drink lol
A long gluten free menu. Celiac safe. I love the beans, broccoli, all gf appetizers (I have had them all), general tso chicken, beef and broccoli. I drive 43 minutes because it is that good!
We had a great experience initially and our actual server was very nice. We decided to split the check but put a big tip on one card, and this older woman who was not even our server kept demanding we tip more even though we tried to tell her we were tipping for everyone at on one card. Completely unprofessional and ruined the experience for everyone with her needless attitude.
Not authentic. Service is pretty much done it by customers checking the menu online and write it by ourselves. And ask waitress to come when we are ready. Even need to ask add more dish during. Also the final receipt total amount is already 18% tip for 3 people and you can't revise it. Food is small portion. Has hunan duck and lamb, and it 70% broccoli and pepper. Its not human style at all -not spicy at all. Won't invite friends to eat here anymore.
Service is great. The food and taste is really good. I've been going here off and on for years and it's very consistent. Never disappoints. Solid choice for Chinese food.
I had wanted to try this place, one of my neighbors raved about it and it has good reviews. It was horrible. My friend and I both ordered moo shu pork, one of my favorites-made up the little pancake and took a bite, it had a horrible burn taste throughout, I tried a second one with duck sauce which helped a little. I have never been served a meal that was burned in my life. Brought most of it home thinking I could poke out the pork pieces for the dogs, didn't really find any. The only plus was the server was quite personable but unfortunately, I won't try this place ever again. Maybe pre pandemic it was good, but I wasn't impressed. The scallion pancakes, one of my favorites, weren't particularly good but were edible. Incidentally, mentioned it to the server, in case, they had a big pot of these vegetables and were going to foist of these vegetables on other unsuspecting guests. Paid the bill and not offered any compensation at all. And the tip they post as a requirement to eat there-unbelievable, not a suggestion.
This food is absolutely amazing! What makes it special for us is that I am a celiac and can safely eat here!!! I cannot recommend this enough - YUM!!!
Authentic shanghai food! We came here for recommendations from friends and the restaurant didnt fail us! The hong shao rou is my best! Their fried stinky tofu is authentic!
Incredibly sweet staff, a plethora of gluten free options, celiac safe, allergy-conscious staff whom are insanely knowledgeable, and good food! Highly recommend!
