My go-to Japanese restaurant in Metrowest for 15 years. Love the variety of dishes on the menu. We ordered the vegetarian maki set, the nabeyaki udon (tempura automatically served on the side so it doesn't get soggy!), and pork katsudon (hot and crispy, with an extra bowl of white rice, as the standard amount of sauce is too much for me), as well as edamame. Beware the ginger dressing in the side salad - it's a bit spicy! Portions are fairly priced for their size and quality. Friendly, reliable service. Convenient location with lots of parking. Happy to support this small business!

I went to this place last year and had a quite good experience and decided to revisit with my colleagues to celebrate something this week. I went there and the server/waitress gave us water and asked right away if we are ready to order and we said we need a few more minutes. Which was totally fine and okay. But she came back within less than a minute (literally in less than a minute) and asked again if she can take our order. Four of us felt a little uncomfortable not only with her asking but also with her tone and attitude at the moment. We would have understood if the place was packed and busy, but it wasn't like that at all. After a while, we ordered some food and one of our menus was a bento box with two different options; miso salmon and teriyaki chicken. We ordered teriyaki chicken and four of us heard what we have ordered so we all knew that we didn't make any mistakes with our order. But she brought salmon later on and when we told her that we ordered teriyaki chicken, she talked in a way if we can take the salmon anyway as if we made the mistake when she was the one who clearly messed up our order. Again, her tone and attitude were very unpleasant for all of us.The food was okay and good, but I gave 2 stars just because the waitress was acting very rude.

I love AOI. I have been there alone, with friends, and with my S/O, and it was always a blast! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is welcoming. I go there at least once a week after work and I always look forward to it.

We were very pleasantly surprised by Aoi. We stopped in on a whim to get a late lunch and everything we tried was fantastic. The sushi was good and fresh and the Sunburn Maki we tried was unlike any sushi I've had. The tempura was hot and crispy without any heaviness.I can't recommend this place enough if you're in the mood for Japanese. The staff was amazing and the food was delicious. A must stop

A great sushi spot, try the torched salmon ball. Service was a little slow, would have been fine if we didn't have kids in tow.

First time visiting since we came out all the way to Natick Mall and wanted to grab quick lunch. I would give 4.5 but there is no options so here are 5 stars!Great place, clean and large. I definitely can tell chefs have good skills from hot dishes and tempura (one of best tempura I had for long time). However, sushi was not at same level. I had to say it may be related to the quality of ingredient. I am not saying that they are terrible but they are not as good as their other cooked or hot dishes. Maybe it was just time of the visit and timing of turn around of fresh ingredients due to my bad luck. I would definitely recommend to others and consider to revisit if I come to the area again.

I am a vegetarian. And AOI is my go to whenever i crave for sushi!!! The Idaho maki is just out of the world. I love the place! If you are looking for vegan options you can try their kimchi tofu soup and vegetable gyoza, which is amazing!!

I went to aoi for the first time because it has a lot of good reviews on Google. I ordered take-out and the hostess of the restaurant told me that it would take 30 minutes. But actually it took 50 minutes. Almost for one hour I had to sit on the waiting bench and spent my time.I ordered sushi dinner and chicken teriyaki. I expected the quality of the food but it wasn't delicious. The nigiri wasn't fresh at all and teriyaki also was so-so. Very disappointed and quite expensive price. What a waste of money. I can tell the quality and freshness of sushi because I'm Asian who came from Asia originally and love sushi and sashimi. This restaurant is not the one which make the real fresh and delicious sushi. I don't understand at all why it has so high reviews.

The food was wonderful! Would definitely come back again.

Ordered the Crispy Crabmeat Dumplings and the Cherry Blossom signature roll. The dumplings were delicious and still warm when they arrived. The Maki roll was fresh and both dishes presented very well.
