We ordered the 2 for $34 special and got the Portuguese steak and a bottle of wine. Beatrice was such a sweet waitress, always kind and brought us extra bread. We also got to take the bottle of wine home unopened, my steak was cooked perfectly and I had some extra to take home (I am a light eater so I got 2 meals out of it). The steak was small but it was delicious ? I would definitely recommend going here.
I get that pricing has gone up, but the pricing for a steak here, $24, is a little over the top. Let me explain. The size of Caldeiras NORMAL steak is the same exact size as a JUNIOR steak I got the evening before at another Portuguese restaurant but caldeiras was 8 bucks more!! For the same size steak! I could see if they, caldeiras, made up for it by giving more sides (mashed, rice, fries etc...) but they don't. They give you like a small amount of mashed, rice, and fries. (We had a table of 4 and purposely ordered different sides) and the round fries, yuk. They were so hard and tasteless. Definitely not worth 24 bucks. $17/$18 maybe. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, the server was ok and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but expected more for the pricing. If you want a great steak that is bigger and less money, go to the place on South Main or the one on Second St. The portions there are definitely worth the money.

The fries aren’t frozen, the steak sandwich is only like $7. Go to spot for quick take out eats.
Excellent food, seriously mediocre service. Never asked if we wanted appetizers or drink refills or dessert. Maybe if we'd ordered alcohol, we'd have gotten better service as the people drinking non-stop around us did.And of course, there is virtually no parking.
Went here today for the first time. We waited exactly 1 hour for our food. Portions were small and steak sauce and rice was extremely salty.
Wife and I seen this place when we where hungry on our way home for lunch. Sure glad we did.. I had the steak tips she had the baked stuffed scrod. Absolutely delicious! Waitress was wonderful and perfect.
