Been there a few times in the past and was NOT impressed. My friend and I both had to send our eggs back and the server took our entire plates, touching food at least on mine to cook them longer and gave back. Server wasn't too friendly whatsoever.... Pancakes were stuck together and couldn't even remove the last off the plate. Bacon was ok.... Home fries again undercooked. The only good thing on these plates was the French toast.
I appreciate 50s more each time I visit. Simple, straightforward, friendly, cozy, economical. There are so few like it left. Please don’t go here so I won’t have to wait in line behind you for a table.
Really wanted to have a good experience at a place I used to go all the time…but after about 20 min of eating, they asked us to hurry because they had a line. We also got looks from a few waitresses, as if we were taking too long. I’ve seen some other responses like this as well and it makes me sad that they’ve started to adopt the “pay us and leave” mentality. So sad.
Great food and great people
Their hash is The absolute best. There’s always a bit of a wait, but definitely worth it. The servers are always pleasant and attentive.
50s diner is a very small, and well kept place. You always have to wait in line, but its always worth it. I had benedict hash, and it was incredible.
We were expecting to wait but we were seated right away. we were amazed that our food came to our table hot and fresh with in five minutes of ordering it, and the place was packed!!! great service!
The 50's Diner has great diner food, a warm and retro feel, and amazing service - the servers are warm, so helpful, and make you feel right at home. It definitely reminds me of the diners I became so used to growing up on Long Island! It's nice to have one nearby.
Great! Laid back, old time diner experience. The staff were friendly and the service was prompt even on a busy Sunday morning. We were seated immediately although a line out the door eventually formed because of the amount of satisfied loyal customers. Food was good and priced right!
We had brunch here a couple of days ago - excellent food, however we thought $3.50 for coffee was very high for a diner. Not a big deal really, but that's more than Starbucks!
