The food is slightly better than average. Their naan feel like the one you can get at a store however their curry makes up for that. If you want indian, you will get Indian but nothing that will wow you.
One of the best Indian cusines around Boston area, the chef is super friendly and kind. Food is extremely delicious and waiting time is very low . I ordered butter chicken, Dal Makhni and Saag Paneer and it was unbelievable, they matched the exact spice level I ordered and food was warm and nicely packed.
I got the Paneer Tikka Masala and Vegetable Samosas. They were alright but I was much more concerned with the health standards of this place. While it's required that masks be used due to the global pandemic, none of the employees were wearing their mask. They didn't even put it on when I came up to order. Arguably, even more appalling, was that none of the employees working with the food wore gloves. I literally saw the guy preparing my food shoving rice into the bowl with his fingers. That's disgusting. I will never come here again. As far as the food goes:Paneer Tikka Masala: Overly sweet. Why add so much sugar to it? It's supposed to be savory. It has a good taste to it but I'd definitely remove the sugar. Sweet curry is a bit bizarre.Vegetable Samosa: The inside of the samosa has a very nice flavor. I liked that. The outside dough seems a bit weird and overfried. These were not bad samosas by any means. But they certainly weren't that great due to the weird dough used.Overall: Food isn't too bad. The health standards clearly don't exist here. I don't understand how they're still open with these practices. If you want good Indian food in Cambridge, Nirvana is still the king.
My roommates and I LOVE getting Surya. The food usually lasts me 2 meals (I know it might be one for other people). It's always really well made, and the people in the restaurant are always friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend any dish with Paneer.
I ordered the Vegetable Hyderabadi Biryani and it was more of a Broccoli Biryani considering the large chunks of Brocolli in there which is not even an Indian Vegetable. Also, takeout should come with spoons and napkins but had to ask for it. The samosas were definitely of the frozen variety. I still give 3 stars because I asked to make it spicy, which was done.
Ordered on Ubereats and it's a bit confusing tbh... This is listed under two names. One with English names and one with Hindi, but the Hindi one has broken links for some of the items FYI.I got the Kachori, Samosa Chaat, Samosa Baingan Bharta (two different types), and paneer masala. I asked for extra spicy and they delivered. The curries were a bit greasy but tasted fine and as you'd expect. Other Indian places don't have Kachori on the menu so that was one thing that stood out.
It was good I liked it. A bit expensive for the Indian place and for it being vegan. But quality was good and tasteful.
Tasty, authentic Indian food. Takeout orders are promptly prepared.I do not recommend the biryani—it looks and tastes like pulao, a major no-no.
Great saag paneer and chana masala! Will definitely be back!
fantastic little spot! great vegetarian, vegan and meat dishes and the best kheer i have had in boston.
