Hamburger Burgers Salad

Picturesque burger restaurant opposite Harvard Yard, but little more. After two failed attempts (check their opening hours, it closes early), I visited them for an afterwork dinner. Lots of burgers with different twists. I ordered a medium rare IPhone, which has onion and mushrooms. It was good except for the meat, which was a little burnt and closer to well done than to medium-rare. The sweet potato fries were good. No beer (other than root beer). Every surface was greasy. Prices were higher than I expected (over $20 after taxes and tips, without a drink). Staff was slow and did not notice us for over 10 min, but otherwise correct.I really wanted to like it because the place is really cool, with memorabilia everywhere and the feeling of an authentic Harvard-students'-favorite character, but other than that, it had little to offer.

Best burger in town, dont forget to try specialty shakes

Food okay, nothing great. The grilled chicken added to my Caesar Salad for an upcharge consisted of 5-6 small, dry bars of chicken. My companion said his Tony Soprano Burger was mediocre. Waitstaff was attentive and pleasant. We ate outside. No bathroom available for customers.

From the service to the food, everything about Mr. Bartley's Burger was enjoyable. First off the burger! No wonder burger is in there name, wow. I got the Drag Race and it was loaded from top to bottom. By accident they served it with fries instead of onion rings, but the waitress noticed this and brought out the rings so I had both. My wife enjoyed the clam chowder and fish and chips. Being from Pennsylvania and having so many wonderful options in Cambridge. We would highly recommend lunch or dinner here.

I’d give this place a 4.2. I was excited to eat on a college campus. I am glad we chose here. The atmosphere was very laidback. I liked the random cheeky signs on the walls. My wait staff was very personable ( we were great customers too. That probably helped). I tried to put on my best Boston accent ( which sucks) to order the Harvard Yard. It’s basically a chicken BLT. I chose the Boston Baked Beans as my side. I added a side of Mac and cheese. The sandwich was good. I didn’t love the beans but that’s not totally on them. I don’t like beans much but felt I should try some Bostonian food. If you like beans you might like them. The Mac and cheese was really good. My friend had onion rings. They were very light, almost like onion strings. They were delicious too. I’d go back, even though they wouldn’t let me sign the wall of notable diners.

This place is great! The names of each item on the menu are unique, funny, and I love them! The food was great! The staff was awesome! Everyone made sure I was taken care of. The young girl behind the register was phenomenal, she had an awesome attitude and was so helpful and kind! Honestly Sam was the reason I came in. I was picking up an order and Sam had this great outgoing attitude and it made me want to go in. Thank you!

A must when visiting Harvard if you even remotely like burgers. I first came here 13 years ago, and though time has passed, the menu has evolved, the quality has not been compromised. The restaurant itself is nothing to look at, and can be off putting with the shared seating. Don't be. I had the Mac Jones, with a twist of blue cheese, and it was delicious as well as filling. The team were great fun, smiling and joking, which definitely adds to the atmosphere. Why only 4 stars, when I first arrived I was told there was no burger meet, and would be about 20 minutes for the delivery. 20 minutes later I was sat down ordering my burger.

We got a burger which was really undercooked to the point of being bloody. The picture below is of the second time we asked it to be cooked again and it's still nowhere near cooked fully. It's actually I believe quite bad for hygiene and health so I'd recommend staying away. I thought it was pretty common knowledge that burger should be cooked all the way through to avoid food poisoning. If some people want rare Burger I suppose that's okay but nobody asked us what we wanted.

This famous local burger joint was a tremendous disappointment. The service was painfully slow, and two of our three orders were botched. I ordered my burger medium-rare, but it arrived as a charred hockey puck; I didn't send it back because it took so long to arrive. My girlfriend's burger didn't arrive until ~30 minutes after the rest of the table was served because the order somehow didn't make it to the kitchen the first time. The sides (sweet potato fries, arugula salad, and onion rings) were clearly the highlight.

Wow. Amazing burgers. The shakes are out of the ballpark! And the chicken sandwich with hot honey was awesome!
