Really good experience here at Little Donkey! Our server was very attentive and answered all of our questions well, as well as provided some great recommendations. We tried the BLT lettuce wraps, fried cauliflower, manti, rolls, and empanada. The only one I wouldn’t get again was the rolls - nothing special here! Everything else was so tasty and the gin cocktail (GTOTM) was great too. And love the eclectic look and atmosphere!
This is a large and very busy restaurant. In addition to the usual noise from other diners, there is constant loud music with a heavy beat. Altho we sat at a corner table near the entrance, the noise was horrible. The portions of the items we chose were much larger than I had expected, and I wish our server had suggested we order less and see how it goes. After 2 dishes were served together, I asked for our service to be slowed down, and restaurant complied. It was still too much food for us to enjoy or finish. Perhaps we saw our server once after our initial order. We were never provided clean plates, and the various sauces from our dishes just blended together on the tiny plates provided.
Best cocktails I've had in probably years. I'm not a heavy drinker but I appreciate a well-crafted Moscow Mule and every other place I've had it in recent years it's been disappointing. Either way too sweet or way too boozy. The one I asked the bartender here to make me was perfect, so so tasty. It was also the first time I'd had two cocktails in one sitting in a while, the Trust Fall was incredible. Could have probably had five of those. Good was just as good, a great, eclectic mix from all over the place. The dumpling style dishes were a hot, and I probably could have the BLT Lettuce Wraps every day and not get sick of them. Will definitely be coming back. My new go to place for a delicious drink.
Went to Little Donkey with my (grown) kids for a Saturday night dinner. Little Donkey did not disappoint. Awesome food and excellent service. One of my daughters has some special dietary needs, and they were ready to help out. This was our second time at Little Donkey, and I imagine it will not be our last. Well done Little Donkey!
Really dope small plates restaurant. It was hard to find a bad bite here and we ordered a significant amount of the menu. The ambiance of this place is also very cool and hip if you are going in for dinner. We went with a baby, which was kind of weird, but we still had a great time. I'd definitely go back, but maybe we would have a baby sitter.
Disappointing Asian fusion. You can probably get better knock off Asian food at Panda Express for a quarter of the price. Each tapas plate is $20, way overpriced for how it tastes. Service is mediocre. Way too few waiters/waitresses for how big the place is. Men’s bathroom only accommodates two so there is perpetually a line.
We were after a quick supper rather than a full blown meal. We ordered a burger…$16. What does it come with? we enquired. Nothing. We don’t do fries ( as if fries are too lowbrow ?). These are small plates here we were advised…did not see that on the menus before hand. We decided to stick with just the burger to see how it was before ordering more. The burger was small..,about the size of a Macdonald’s hamburger but nowhere near as tasty ?. It was lukewarm and tasted fatty. It was not a good experience. I don’t mind paying for something good but this place felt like it was hype. We went elsewhere for our supper. To be fair, the manager did not charge us. Glad we didn’t order more…feels like we dodged a bullet.
Was cute for a date but the food is definitely for an adventurous palette. Drinks were incredible. Would recommend sitting at the bar for a date
Loved the octopus a la plancha, hamachi, mackerel, ravioli, and ricotta toast. Everything was very good, not a dud on the table. Drinks came quickly, odd lack of good bourbon selection (for a trendy place) however. Loud, fun atmosphere. Good friendly service even at the busiest time--8 on a Thursday. Only hesitation about going back would be the price. I'd say it's about 15% higher than it should be. We were a two-top in a booth, but the middle of the room was mostly given to long tables with backless stools, I couldn't tell if they were being shared by different parties (hard to imagine with Covid) or if they just had a lot of 8- to 10-person parties. Anyway I would have been very unhappy with a backless stool for dinner at my age.
Great sharable plates!
