Great food, tasty, in a crowded place (in Covid times it causes us some concerns, always). Fast service. But “crowded” means tasty food being delivered and that is all about Izakaya Ittoku.
Every dish we ordered was just simply delicious. Probably one the best places in Boston to get authentic Japanese food. Service was excellent and the staff were very friendly!!! Highly recommend!
We ordered everything to share, and I was impressed with every dish. We ordered sukiyaki, Yakitori, Yaki Ika, Karaage, and arubi kani avo salad. We both ordered Hokusai sour for the drink. They were pretty good! We were super full and satisfied with the meal.

Great food, great service. The yakitori are grilled to perfection. The wait staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The drink menu offers an array of sake, cocktails, wine and beer. Cannot wait to go back and try more food!
I went with my Japanese friend and we both liked it a lot. It really resembles the Izakaya(居酒屋)that you could find in Japan. The atmosphere was good, too. They have really good cocktail options, if you’re here, make sure order a cocktail from the bar. The food was good, too.The reason I gave it three stars is because: we just finished our third drink and wasn’t planning to leave yet. The waitress just handed us the bill straightaway without any explanation( it was around 8:30 so I don’t think the restaurant was closing, but she could explain it if that was the case). We felt we got kicked out.
This has to be my favorite restaurant/bar in the metro. I bring all my friends here and it’s always a hit. The staff is super fun and recognizes me whenever I walk in. Japanese food is my partner and I’s jam. We’ve sampled a fair amount of Japanese restaurants in the area and this is definitely the best. Ittoku is an izakaya so similar to tapas the idea is to order a few small plates that you share with the table. The yakisoba, okonomiyaki, carb croquettes are always my go to. The drinks are also great here and come in super cute glasses.
Conveniently located inside the Lesley University student center! The food was great. It came out nice and hot. The only weird thing was the order that our food and drinks was brought out. We were served our entrées, then drinks, then sushi. It was kind of odd... Other than that, all of the food was spectacular. Moreover, the prices were pretty reasonable. The drinks were also really good. The portions are pretty small though. The atmosphere is great, and there's a good amount of seating for a small place. They have plenty of servers, all of which are attentive and kind. Definitely recommend this place!
Tremendous place… highly recommended the seafood okonomiyaki, very delicious. Yakitori is good as well. We also ordered the Daikon salad, the salad dressing has wasabi inside which was really surprising and it tasted very refreshing.
This is just about my favorite restaurant in Boston. The izakaya dishes are served quickly and taste amazing. Prices are quite reasonable for the sizes. Some of my favorite dishes are Agedashi tofu, mackerel, grilled squid, omusoba, and seaweed salad. Their matcha pudding is also divine and not too sweet.
