Great quality broth, overall excellent food. The only downside was that the drink menu is limited and doesn’t include alcohol. The staff was friendly and attentive. I had the Shoyu ramen and enjoyed it a lot, I got the medium, which was the perfect size - enough to fill you up, but not TOO much like you see at a lot of other ramen places. The location is right next to my school and easily accessible via public transport, so I’ll be back soon for sure!
The Ramen noodles are very high quality, with the right "al dente" consistency, springy and tasty. I trued two types, and both were excellent and very tasty. The side dishes were much less impressive, I tried an octopus side dish and it was a great disappointment, barely visible octopus bits covered with oily fried material and bad mayonnaise. On the basis of this partial information my recommendation is: run for the ramen and avoid the side dishes.
Amazing noodle texture, small portion available!
I have tried several ramen places in Boston, and in my opinion, Santouka has the best ramen in the entire area. The setting is nice but I think the place is mainly targeted toward a quick meal than a longer lunch/dinner. Perfect for lunch breaks.
My fav ramen place in Bos for years! Always reminder me these days go to the one on Newbury St. after school!
Worth the wait, though the line was quite quick! Delicious ramen.
The ramen quality was fantastic, souped in pork bone froth and added flavors such as Shio, Shoyu, Miso and so on made the store rick in options to choose from. The ramen we had were Miso and Cha-se?(forgot the proper name)…were good. Portion size, was on the lower sode for the price and average ramen we get in US. Also, the amount lf veggies (for a18$ ramen) was very low (no sea weed or bean sprouts). But the taste preceeded that, so didnt feel too bad.Can be imporved: Seating was not comfortable, cramped for spaces and literally no room to move. Also, servers were trying to hasten things, like as soon as you finish the ramen—boon, bill is on the table. I mean, dining in is about experience, not just food, No? Surely, we’ve all gone through a pandemic to know that.Overall, will come again for good ramen—may be not for a fine dining experience.
It’s good ramen (Cha shu combo with Kara miso soup & Salmon bowl) but not the best. Maybe our expectation too high cause heard it so many times…
This Hokkaido Ramen Restaurant is actually part of a Santouka chain, this one is located at Harvard Square, Cambridge. Their ambience is basic but comfortable, services were very good and efficient, pricing is reasonable. The ramen itself taste delicious and authentic, really enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit if you are craving for Ramen while in Harvard, Cambridge.
A delicious bowl of ramen in a large, brightly lit space with ample seating. Ate on a Monday afternoon for lunch at 1PM and they were fairly busy. Waited five minutes before being greeted and sat down. Finally sat down and placed our orders for gyoza, miso ramen, Kara miso ramen combo with the salmon bowl. Everything was tasty. There was a hair in my salmon bowl, but everything else was great!
