My friend and I had an extremely relaxing evening at this place after I had a very tiring moving out/in process on May 1st. The chairs and atmosphere is so historical and beautiful and my friend and I were gushing over it for quite a bunch of times. My friend order burger and I ordered fish and chips and both were great. Will go again. We were sitting down the Allagash sign. Highly recommend this place for gatherings of small size and catching up with friends. The place was not too noisy and I could comfortably hear my friend from the other side of the table. Very accessible place in Brookline right on Washington sq C line stop. My friend parked her car in the diagonal parking stops middle of street which are apparently free on weekends.
Rude host and waitress. Host just pointed her finger in my face and gave me an attitude when I asked to sit outside. Waitress walked passed me 5 times after giving me water and tended to other people when it was very clear I was ready to order. I’ve only been in Boston for 2 weeks and cannot understand why everyone is just so rude here. To finish this off my salmon on my salad was undercooked
The look of an old style “public house/restaurant/bar” outside and inside drew us in to this neat little place on Beacon Street in Brookline, and the food made us glad it did. There was indoor and outdoor seating and a mix of families, couples and groups of students when we visited for lunch. The menu offered lots of options and our group had sandwiches and the macaroni and cheese. The portions were fine, and Mac and cheese cooked just right in its little skillet. Friendly staff and nice price range will earn repeat visits.
So far, everything we have tried here has hit the spot. Mac & cheese is great, burgers are juicy, and the mussels are amazing!! We love to get the 1/2 bucket of mussels & some fries to split between two people. The drink menu is extensive and there are always new drafts to try.
This place has amazing Mac and Cheese and an awesome beer list. I don’t know much about European beers but the servers are always great at letting me ask a lot of questions and helping me find one I really like. I wish it was open Mondays too!
I love public house. Great burgers and awesome mussels in amazing broth. PLUS amazing selection of beers. I love how covid safe they are being- we ate outside under a heat lamp. Thank you for being an institution for this neighborhood.
Gave me massive food poisoning. Right at the end of a date that was getting steamy. Barf, literally.
The food menu is limited but everything was tasty. The green beans are so good. The fries are good too, but they are thick cut. The fish and chips was good with a thin layer of batter and two generous pieces. The burger is enormous. The Mac and cheese also was tasty.
When you wake up slightly hungover there’s nothing better then this Mac & Cheese.. I srsly doubt any other Mac & cheese compares. I always add the caramelized onions and bacon. I’m sure the rest of the menu is great however I will never try it. My date thought the chicken sandwich was great. But she definitely really messed by not getting the Mac & Cheese.
Cool vibe! Good place for a date night….really good beers on draft!
