Authentic, traditional, nutritious, and delicious Japanese food!!
Me and my party of four entered Shiki excited with high hopes; we left upset, disappointed, and frustrated. I must give credit where credits is due, the food was good, but the service was unacceptable. I received my food 30 mins after ordering and one person in my party received their food 40 mins late. To make matters worst, they served us cold miso soup and got one of the orders wrong. I can understand someone making a mistake, but we we’re already bitter from waiting so long while watching people around us get served. There was also some confusion about them saying they were gonna not charge us for the wrong order(they did charge us). Overall is was a very frustrating and upsetting experience. To make things right they gave us some ice cream but when i say some, I mean some. It wasn’t enough ice cream for the all of us. They only gave us two spoons so I guess they didn’t mean it for all four of us that waited 40+mins for bad service??? They also gave one free beer. This experience was probably a fluke But regardless it was really bad service.
This is definitely my worst dining experience.1. Food is mediocre. It’s just a little better than the worst-level Japanese restaurant. And a lot of dishes is unavailable.2. We waited for over 30 minutes to order food, and other tables have to wait for approximately some amount of time. I have no idea how the owners are managing this place. And no apologize for keeping us waiting, even no explanations at all. The waiter just pretended to be unaware of that we waited for so long.3. They charge 18% tips without writing it out on the menus or letting you know in advance. They also write on the receipt “tips:18% total amount:xx” just like the customer wrote it. I tried to take that little paper away and write my amount of tip, but they write that little “18% tip note” again and still charge me 18%.4. It takes them forever to serve you food, and even bottled sake. The attitude and the little “18% tip” note are appalling, and disgusting, not even rude. Will never ever come to this place again.
Food and service was great. I have absolutely no complaints about this place. We ordered a lot of sushi, sashimi, udon noodles, miso soups and a lot of both warm and cold sake. The waiter gave us great sake recomendations for first timers, he was very knowledgeable and nice. Prices were reasonable and ambiance was lovely, quiet, nice jazz music in the background. A great place for a date or for a quicker meal. Will be coming back. Highly recommend
Food is great and service is good too. But the bummer part is my friend and I both got diarrhea afterwards, which we didn’t and shouldn’t expect from a $60 per person dinner. So please pay more attention to food safety!
Nothing too fancy but good taste and really nice price suits for people like me want to try everything but only has a tiny stomach! I love the restaurant environment really chill. Owner and server was very friendly. That meal made my day I finished everything and really full!
This is the place for people looking for the real authentic Japanese food. The taste was really fresh and tasty. However, long time to wait for food. Recommend to come early in the morning to get the first queue.Score: 9/10
Food is really delicious and authentic, but the it’s a little bit over priced if you don’t order from lunch menus. Went in on a weekday night and was told that all noddle food were bit available and menu was very limited sometimes.
The quality and quantity of food has gone down considerably. The service was very good. But I was surprised when I found the pictures of the exact same food I took two years ago at the restaurant.
Excellent food overall, including very fresh seafood. I had the matsu platter, which provided a sampling of several different dishes. I highly recommend these sets; they're a great way to get a taste of many different dishes. The dinner menu also looked amazing with even more options; will definitely have to come back sometime for dinner!
